Nicodemus Hingima Monyancha from Kisii is among six suspects charged in the US over an alleged $516,695 (KSh67 million) cryptocurrency scaaam targeting Americans.
The suspects allegedly posed as beautiful women on dating sites, flirted with American victims, and built what appeared to be genuine romantic relationships. Then came the trap: faake NFT investment platforms.
The victims were persuaded to connect their cryptocurrency wallets. Investigators allege that the scaaammers secretly drained the funds and transferred the money to accounts linked to China-based actors.
Malaysian national Chui Kok Wa is described by prosecutors as the alleged leader of the scheme, while Monyancha is among the accused accomplices.

🚨 US Department of Justice (DOJ) National Fraud Enforcement Division just announced Operation Ghostbusters indictments targeting a nationwide “ghost student” scam tied to a Kenyan network.
Criminals stole identities of Americans who never attended college, submitted fake FAFSA applications, enrolled phantom students, and diverted leftover federal aid funds overseas after colleges took their cut.
Five defendants charged so far, more than $750,000 in crypto seized, and a team is now on the ground in Kenya. Running since 2021, it has likely cost taxpayers hundreds of millions while blocking aid for real students.

🚨 WHY IS EVERYONE PREPARING FOR THE WORST AT THE SAME TIME?
🇬🇧 UK: The government tells every household to keep 3 days of supplies, including 9 litres of water per person as a part of "Be Ready" campaign.
🇫🇷 France: The "Tous responsables" guide asks for a 72-hour kit with water, food, basic medicines and a radio.
🇯🇵 Japan: Japanese Minister Hosono urges citizens to stockpile food, water and toilet supplies ahead of potential disasters.
🇩🇪 Germany: Ideally 10 days of food, water, medicine and hygiene supplies, with three days also considered valuable.
Governments are essentially warning that food supplies, electricity and payment systems could all collapse at once.
France calls the first three days of a crisis the decisive window, when you may have to survive on your own before services recover.
Governments saying the threats as cyberattacks, extreme weather, hostile states and critical supply chain disruptions.
The Pentagon is now telling major US military bases to plan to run for 90 days without outside help.
Government officials insist none of this means war is near.
So why is everyone preparing at the same time?

What’s different is everything around it.
Britain launched a campaign on Oct. 22 telling 68 million people to keep three days of water, no-cook food and cash at home, with its defence secretary naming cyberattacks and state-sponsored threats; Germany is advising ten days; the EU has its 72-hour kit; and Washington has told the Gulf to brace for Iranian retaliation on energy and infrastructure after the midterms.
