This is the most insane demo I’ve seen. Subvocal YC F26 lets you speak completely silently and reads the minute movements of your face. So you can talk to your AI anytime. AI + sensors is magic. What’s crazier is they built this in 4 months. This demo was live yesterday evening at the YC office.
We’ve raised $1.3M from YC & Afore Capital so you never have to type or speak again. Typing is slow. Talking into your computer is awkward. Subvocal fixes both Our glasses give you the speed of speech without you making a sound or touching a keyboard. It tracks your internal speech muscles with non-contact sensing and decodes silent, almost invisible mouthing into text at more than 200 words/min. Pre-orders are now live at: subvocal.co/preorder?utm_sou…

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

Vercel CI is 1.6x faster in the worst case. The real magic is coming when task caching can prune down the work further. Also: This is the worst it ever will be. We'll be grinding down every millisecond that can be saved
Replying to @cramforce
Tests from @studioroboto so far show it’s pretty god damn fast, going to see what it benchmarks on turbo-start-sanity

While I am in awe of what we can achieve with our new agentic systems, I also grieve for the clarity that we have lost in the sea of slop. 8 out of 10 replies on this site are obviously auto reply agents. The forest is so overgrown with weeds that I struggle to find the trees.

Launching Juno, your second brain in iMessage. I collect little things all the time. A ramen spot from a TikTok. An article on TechCrunch. A chair I saw on Instagram. A screenshot of a friend telling me to read something. An idea at 1am. Pretty soon it's scattered everywhere, like in Apple Notes or in texts to myself. Then I never find it again, let alone do anything with it. So I built Juno. Juno is a contact in your phone. Text it anything you wanna keep, a link, a photo, a screenshot, a voice memo, a half thought, and it files it into the right note for you. No app, no tags, no "where should this go". When I need something I just ask, like "what was that chair I saved?" Everything's on the web too, already organized into notes for you. After a while I realized Juno knew my taste well enough to actually get stuff done. So I let it. It orders things I saved, books the spots I've been meaning to try, texts me a brief every morning, and built me a site for a weekend plan. I've even started to call it. It's proactive too. It sets up routines on its own, like checking in after plans or a heads up before a friend's birthday. I've been texting Juno every day for a couple weeks and it's been really useful. If it sounds like something you'd use, try it, it's free.

What I learned today: - deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash-1017 works great in Claude Code for sub agents (just ask it to write an .claude/agents/ file as the sub agent tool doesn't take a tool arg) - With Opus 5.5 doing orchestration everything just works wonderfully - It's extremely cheap. I currently have 24 sub agents cooking (all with their own Vercel Sandbox to leave my laptop alone) and until now I have spent like $9 on deepseek which does 99% of the work 🤯 - Previously I averaged about $2K per day in list-price tokens (Sorry @mabrahamsen) Even if you have a Max subscription, just imagine how much more you could do vercel.com/get/token-pass

Luckily, I think we already have a word for this: a "closed" task. In order to differentiate from "closed" in the project management sense, and to lean into the looping nature of agents I propose: "Closed-loop tasks"
I feel like I need a word for the type of task that agents are really good at I.e. where it has 100% of the data, it can run experiments, verify independently, and hill-climb towards its destination On these tasks my trust level is totally maxed-out and the results are incredible Just need a word for them
