This might be a critique of Scotus, but it badly misunderstands Aquinas.
The issue isn’t vocabulary; it’s ontology. Classical scholasticism says God is being itself and creatures are participated being. That sounds pious, but structurally it means God and creatures occupy the same metaphysical category — “being” — differentiated only by mode. God has it infinitely; creatures finitely. One genus, two measures. That is a shared ontology, no matter how strongly the Creator–creature distinction is affirmed verbally.
Van Til’s critique was simple: if God and creatures share “being” in any sense, the Creator–creature distinction has already collapsed at the structural level. The creature becomes a lower instance of what God is the highest instance of. Continuity‑metaphysics replaces covenantal ontology. The biblical distinction is not a difference of degree but of kind: God is self‑contained; the creature is dependent. No shared being. No participation. No continuum.
This is why the scholastic framework cannot preserve the Creator–creature distinction ontologically, even while repeating it confessionally. The problem isn’t that scholastics deny the distinction in words — it’s that their metaphysics denies it in structure.

Molinists say that God’s knowledge is determined by future free acts. This sacrifices God as ultimate Cause. He is determined by events, not Determiner. This is contrary to the nature of God, for he becomes an epistemological spectator.
Prooftexting against well-established theological systems is so hokey. We all have the same bible. Maybe their interpretation fails, but no one is going to refute say... Calvinism... by simply reading Romans 10. It really just implies that you're not familiar with the system.
