Let's hear it from James Talarico himself: "Jesus Christ himself was a radical feminist." "The American flag is such a complicated symbol for most of us." "God is non-binary." "Our trans community needs abortion care too." "Modern science obviously recognizes there are many more than two biological sexes, in fact there are six." "Our southern border should be like our front porch, there should be a giant welcome mat out front."

There’s a bizarre cope circulating among the GOP establishment that Republicans are ENTITLED to Bob’s vote, regardless of what they deliver, because Democrats are holding a gun to America’s head. The problem with this argument is that we already know what a corrupt and ineffective one-party soft dictatorship looks like: Mexico. Mexico endured 71 years of PRI rule, where elections existed but the ruling party faced little meaningful electoral accountability. Were Mexicans better off for it? And you’re proposing the same fundamental absence of accountability: Republicans should enjoy unconditional loyalty because the alternative is unthinkable. YES, Democrats are worse. But the GOP establishment has figured out how to use that threat to hold its own voters hostage. Every election, they point to the gun and demand Bob’s vote. Every election, he gives it to them. And every election, they find another excuse for why they couldn’t deliver what they promised. Here’s the question none of you can answer: If Republicans won’t deliver for Bob when they NEED his vote, why the hell would they start once you’ve convinced them they can NEVER lose it? Under this arrangement, Republican politicians decide what scraps Bob deserves, and whenever he objects, they point to the Democrats and demand his gratitude. And the worst part is that you’re more outraged by Bob withholding his vote than you are by the politicians who gave him every reason to. Apparently, the only person in the Republican Party who’s never allowed to break a promise is the voter.
If there is any impetus that could make you vote for muslims and communists, or sit idly by while it happens, you don't care about this country. Politicians can't make you a cunt. Only you can do that.

The really funny thing, in a tragic comedy sort of way, is that due to inflation gas at $5.50 a gallon today is still cheaper than it was almost the entirety of the Obama Administration.
America trooned out because gas prices went up by $1

In 2020 Democrats campaigned on racism and after they took power they passed an anti-lynching bill to make an already illegal hate crime an illegal hate crime. In 2024 Republicans campaigned on affordability and after they took power they raised prices with war and tarrifs and lectured any (white) person who complained.

Respectfully, Dinesh, the fact that Republicans can no longer rely on a majority of White voters is an indictment of decades of poor Republican governance, not some immutable demographic reality. We spent decades alienating the very Americans who built and sustained this party through outsourcing, mass immigration, stagnant wages, and the destruction of their economic prospects. Now we’re told the solution is to abandon them further and assemble a patchwork of competing ethnic constituencies? What would Bob and his son say about this? I can welcome Americans of any background if they truly share our interests and values. But a party that must continually bargain with foreign ethnic interest groups at the expense of its own principles isn’t building a coalition. It’s conducting a hostage negotiation. Why is winning back the White working and middle classes treated as an impossibility rather than the obvious first order of business? Why is catering to the only people who actually vote Republican have to carry a massive asterisk that YOUR co-ethnics must approve it first? We don’t have a demographic problem we cannot solve. We have a governance problem we refuse to fix.

The “no you’re wrong to be resentful, everything is great and if it’s not you’re to blame” angle is BARELY a good idea on a personal level, utterly suicidal coming from a political class pitch. “Elect me and I will tell you to go fuck yourself, loser!” - establishment GOP

"It's just the billionaires" "It's just the millionaires" "It's just people making $500k or more" "It's just people making $200k or more" "Okay, it's basically everyone."
Certain Democrats might lose their minds over this, but we must recognize that people earning over $500,000 a year are wealthy. People earning over $200,000 a year are wealthy. If we want to have normal-rich-country social policies (e.g., low-cost or free child care, universal health care), we need these people to pay a little extra. The middle-class probably need to contribute a little more as well, but they will definitely come out ahead when the improved health system and public services are accounted for.

It’s crazy how liberals get the slightest power and become bloodthirsty monsters while our side did nothing when Kirk was murdered. It’s exhausting.
MAGA was possibly the stupidest cult in history. TRUMP didn’t break America because he was strong, he broke America because we let our country become weak. Incoming democrats: no more “stern letters” and “concerned tweets.” Prosecute these criminals. Never let this happen again

One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.
