Most people do not know what typical indie game life looks like. So here's some concrete, real numbers. Preface: yes, of course some studios beat these odds and these numbers. But it is not the norm.

I don’t doubt your point about marketing, especially at the high end of the market. As for indie games, is it not possible to reduce costs below the expected return?

Breaking my social media break to exclaim that there probably is an intersection between the folks who use Dot by @newcomputer and readers of @robinsloan’s new novel Moonbound. No spoilers but, huh. You folks feel it too? The sourdough is real.

inadvertently diverting foot traffic from low-income streets to high-income streets takes revenue and potentially tax dollars from already struggling communities and funnels it instead to richer communities. always remember: we live (and build tools) in complex systems.

Perfectly timed for Pride Month, thrilled that today marks the public release of Body of Mine, the first LGBTQ+ experience on the Meta Quest App Store. It’s been an honor for @AgileLens to work w/ @c_kostopoulos & co the past 6 months to bring this to a wider audience. Thread 👇

"It is now possible for tiny teams to make principled software that millions of people use, unburdened by investors. (...) These principles can be irrevocably built into the architecture of the app." @kepano 🤙🤙🤙 (Truncated for character limit)

Does this sound like you? Agile Lens is a good crew who could use your help!
Thrilled w/ Agile Lens’ line-up of summer interns but there’s one problem—they’re all brilliant Unreal Engine devs & artists. You know what I don’t have? Someone who loves marketing / web design / etc. 99% of Agile Lens’ bizdev is clients DM’ing me. Let’s update the website lol

No joke my job at a AAA company a long time along that is about managing a dollhouse and rhymes with Her Flims More.

TWO: The player can unlock 20 different motorcycles. Name each motorcycle and write a lore blurb for it that is no longer than 80 words. The only thing you can visually change about the motorcycle is its color, the model is already locked and is identical for each motorcycle.

At least I got away with a shitload of bad puns. (To be clear there were many writers and all of us were very punny because we were trying to make each other laugh)

One thing about music AI that I can’t decide if I hate or love right now is how it defaults to earnest cringeyness. While trying to break it with multiple languages it instead does a somersault and came up with this: suno.com/song/67674138-ab20-…

a few notes: - the overly processed voice seems to be an artifact of the model trying to sing in different languages? - it stumbles with more than three languages beyond english right now.

I think one of the most unpleasant ways to know you don’t have COVID is when you walk into a stuffy elevator and the prior person had on too nuch perfume and most definitely farted.

Getting to the point of marginal German fluency that I can ask for directions and order food without folks lapsing into English for me … and then I’m headed home. :p

It was just brought to my attention that NarraScope is happening again this year! Loved the first one in 2019, so am going to start wrangling things to make time for Rochester, NY in June!
