This isn’t a special occasion. It’s just another day for Solana builders in Tokyo.
I’ve been practicing Judo for over 30 years, and I finally got the chance to train at the Kodokan in Tokyo, the birthplace of Judo.
What I love most about Judo is that it’s so much more than a sport. It teaches you trust, courage, and respect 🤝
And perhaps the most important lesson: No matter how many times you fall, you always get back up. 🥋
But what if we didn't have to execute trades one by one, but in parallel?
That's the idea behind Continuous Clearing Auctions (CCAs).
Instead of competing for a place in line, trades are cleared together.
I'll explain how this works in another thread next week.
Mato is my experiment to see if we can build fairer markets.

In theory, markets do something amazing: they find a price where supply meets demand, creating as much value from trading as possible.
But in practice, many DEXs execute trades one by one.
Suddenly, who trades right before you can have a big impact on the price you get.
Markets are supposed to care about supply and demand.
But the way we execute trades makes transaction ordering matter too.
Once sequence becomes value, traders aren't just competing on price.
They're competing for their place in line.
One thing I love about the Solana ecosystem is that people don’t just talk about problems. They build solutions.
Extraction is still a challenge, but there are some really interesting approaches to making trading fairer.
“The most important thing is to make Solana the best place to trade any asset.”
What excites me about building onchain is the opportunity to rethink how financial products and markets work, and experiment with new ideas.
That experiment became @MatoMarkets
