ok, maybe there is an arb play here eventually with $lite and $mrvl but it's more of a proxy play; if you like the long term $mrvl thesis, and tucking I lumentum, then $lite at meaningful discount of more than 4.5x $mrvl is a play

damn, I was hoping it'd be half cash too just so I could light up the meme. pretty wild though announcement tbh. do you think $lite views itself as a near term commodity and interconnect is the more longevity play? $mrvl
$MRVL TO ACQUIRE $LITE IN $115B ALL-STOCK DEAL Marvell has agreed to acquire Lumentum in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $115B in enterprise value, combining two major suppliers of AI infrastructure and optical networking technology. Under the agreement: • Lumentum shareholders will receive 4.5 Marvell shares for each LITE share, implying roughly $1,132 per share. • The offer represents a 23.9% premium to unaffected closing prices on October 28. • Marvell shareholders will own approximately 67% of the combined company, with Lumentum shareholders holding 33%. The deal brings together Marvell's custom AI chips, networking switches and interconnect technology with Lumentum's lasers, optical transceivers and optical circuit switching capabilities. The bigger opportunity is the growing shift from copper to optical connectivity as AI data centers require faster data transfer, greater bandwidth and improved power efficiency. Marvell says the combination could expand its addressable market to $550B, allowing it to offer more integrated connectivity solutions across AI data centers and within advanced chip packages. The companies also expect: • More than $1B in annual run-rate cost synergies. • Improved long-term revenue growth and profit margins. • Accretion to Marvell's adjusted EPS in the first year after closing. Matt Murphy will remain CEO of the combined company, with the transaction expected to close in H1 2028, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. Separately, Marvell reaffirmed the midpoint of its fiscal Q3 revenue guidance while narrowing the expected range to ±2% from ±5%.

META recently had hit job headline around not being the 'same' as the other hyperscalers that that use their compute and infra as a service; $meta could do the same if we continue to live in a comp constraint ridden world and they can't make use of it themselves for higher RoI.
This summer, $META was in active talks to lease roughly $10 billion of its AI compute capacity to rival Anthropic, as part of a broader “Meta Compute” initiative to monetize excess data center power. Why? The initiative is called Meta Compute, run by infrastructure head Santosh Janardhan, Meta Superintelligence Labs leader Daniel Gross, and company president Dina Powell McCormick. Hyperscale data centers take years to construct, while AI demand rises in bursts rather than a straight line. Meta isn't building for today's workloads. It's building for where it believes AI demand will be in 2028 and beyond. Any temporary excess capacity becomes inventory that can generate revenue instead of remaining an idle cost. We don't know what the ultimate utilization of these GPUs will be yet...

as an exercise, i had an agent look at all of tom lee’s price target calls for crypto and then compare what they actually were… “This scorecard takes 22 of his dated Bitcoin and Ethereum price predictions from the last two years — Nov 1, 2024 to Nov 1, 2026 — with his own words, the date he said them, and what the price actually did by his deadline. Every dated call whose deadline has passed missed on a closing-price basis — half of them by more than 50%” wild. $btc $eth

A killer IOS feature would be a little "ai" icon you could click that would determine if texts were legit or spam inline with the texts (like how X has Grok button).

guess we are back to the engagement farming posts; calling $sofi a student loan stock is bottom shelf troll material. hey @grok how much of sofi’s loan book and revenue overall comes from student loans? This guy is stuck in 2018…
If you want to buy a student loan stock that’s trying to be a sexy tech stock while being down 12% in 5 years then $SOFI is one to look into Please do your own research and remember not to invest more than you can afford to lose

The market for AI financing is already where the worries are right now. Now you have hyperscalers like $META, $MSFT sucking even more capital out of it, so the conditions for neoclouds to get financing are getting even worse. If financing conditions continue to worsen, the neoclouds get worse rates, which means they have to raise prices for their customers for the business model to work, but those clients are mostly hyperscalers and the frontier labs. But at some point, the hyperscalers and frontier labs, if they don't like the pricing, can just decline the neocloud offers, raise debt or equity at much lower rates by themselves, as most of them are investment-grade (possibly even put in their own ASIC), and cut out the neoclouds. The necloud business model is in serious question.

Love seeing the Brewers make history and win the World Series; that team was nasty this year. They play great ball... across the board. My dad always said the hitters that worked the count, didn't chase pitches outside the zone, and used all parts of the field were the most difficult batters to face. It's not the free swinging guys that hit 30hr. And the Brewers were lined up with them. (oh, and he knows a lot about pitching) Lets go Brew Crew!

I could be wrong; usually am... but what did everyone think about the $googl earnings and pass through to $amzn? Seemed search/ads may have spooked; there's some explainable things in there, but mr. market will still need convincing. The spacex markdown obviously hurt their eps, but cloud killed it. ... $msft cloud killed it ... $amzn cloud going to kill it? I don't see amazon ads being disrupted or having to answer to LLM deterioration yet... I use muse, and I still go to amazon directly to do most of my purchases. 2 day free shipping, 5% off with amazon CC, and most importantly, easy returns... you're not going to get me to save $2 and buy directly from some website and then me having to pay $6 to return it and not go through my normal channels to even do so. No thanks. But is there a world where Capex scares?

I don't really look at $googl much to have any pulse on how earnings will go, but you have to think that GCP and their TPU biz is booming right now.

this dude is crashing. if he’s worried about all of these gateways into e commerce and search bc of agents, then i guess im feeling good about $meta right now
I'm also getting more concerned about $AMZN because personalized bots will make it easy to find just what you're looking for, making them a logical starting point for anything we buy. Amazon wins for three reasons: 1. Find what you want, 2. Speed, 3. Trust. Number 1 will increasingly be under attack. Early data says this is happening, with Zuck's comment last week that Muse's main use case is commerce. Global daily bot usage is around 20m. I bet it's 2B in three years.
