Full audio now available. It does appear the pilots were warned about the weather and chose to fly through it.

The most reasonable reply to my viral post. The counter-argument.

My hot take is that this is survivorship bias. We have no way of knowing the reactions of all the pilots who have died under similar conditions (possibly while totally freaking out?) because they didn't do so on the radio. It may be that she did quite well comparatively.
I was reading some inexperience in her responses, yes, but my first reaction was to be surprised at how she could access English at all at such a stressful moment. If you listen to the audio of Sully landing his plane in the Hudson, yes he is calm, but you notice once he knows he's gonna be landing in the water, he stops communicating. Trying to put what you're seeing into words is a totally different part of the brain from flying the airplane in an emergency condition. When you have emergency experience and a known recovery procedure, it is easier to remain calm.
My guess from the audio is they hit freezing rain after they already had ice on the tail, and the stabilizer froze up enough to stall the tail. At that point, you start diving. Pulling back on the yoke does absolutely nothing. You speed up beyond the limits of the airframe, and the tail flies off. Even if it remains attached, there is no recovery procedure when you're descending at 22000 fpm with no stabilizer. That's a guaranteed near-vertical UFIT as we saw in the dash cam.
Keep in mind at their pitch angle they would have had a good portion of their weight on the yoke, and would need to somehow support their own weight before they could even attempt to pull back.
She's the copilot; at one point you can hear the pilot in the background saying the Lord's Prayer. He also knew it was not recoverable. I'm glad she communicated as much as she did; without it we would have a much harder time figuring this one out.
There may be pilot error in this crash, but if so it will turn out to be how they handled the first sign of freezing, not how they reacted once the emergency occurred. Again, that's a guess based on preliminary data.
A pilot should not:
🔘become hysterical
🔘speak too quickly to be intelligible
🔘say, "We're going to crash into the ground!"
🔘scream like a little girl
🔘hyperventilate
🔘scream like a little girl again
A pilot needs a certain disposition. This is not it. That's the reality.

All nine people aboard a Learjet 60 were killed in a devastating crash in Florida on Sunday afternoon, according to officials.
The aircraft departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was bound for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the jet crashed near Cresthaven, a residential community in Palm Beach County, at approximately 12:50 p.m.

The aircraft was in an uncontrolled overspeed dive exceeding 20,000 ft/min from cruising altitude. Expecting calm is unrealistic; male pilots have screamed in CVRs facing death, e.g. Western 2605.

To the objections:
"You would react the same way!" -- Whether I would or not is irrelevant. Pilots should not.
"She has a right to be scared." -- Of course she does. It's a terrifying situation. That's also beside the point.
"She wasn't the pilot. She was the co-pilot." --My point is equally true for both the PF and the PM.
"Men do the same thing!" -- My comment did not mention sex and applies to everyone.
"Your comment does mention sex! You said, 'scream like a little girl.'" -- Both sexes are capable of screaming like a little girl. If you are one of those, don't choose a job where others' lives hang on your composure.
"Nothing she did would have changed the result." --- Probably true. That is also beside the point.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
In fatal crashes, pilots have often screamed or expressed panic on CVRs due to the uncontrollable startle response in extreme stress, which FAA training acknowledges cannot always be suppressed despite preparation.

Mentally ill women are drawn to leftism like moths to a flame. With similar results.
At the University of Michigan, a woman confronted students at a Turning Point USA debate table, demanding to see their permit before slapping one of them across the face on camera.
Campus police tackled and handcuffed her moments later. As she was led away, she shouted, "I should have killed you while I had the chance."
You can, in good faith, feel attracted to both sexes.
You cannot, in good faith, be *proud* of it. That is something only activist infiltrators say.
It would be just as logical to say, "I am proud of my desire to have sex with multiple women."
He wants to infiltrate the LDS church and fashion it after his own image.

We have always known that "diverse" just means "no white men" but it's nice to have Spanberger come out and illustrate the point so explicitly. By this definition, six black people and two middle aged white women is "the most diverse cabinet ever seen."
I’m proud to have the most talented, hardest-working cabinet in Virginia’s history. They are also the most diverse cabinet Virginia has ever seen.
Every single one of our cabinet secretaries were selected because they’re the best of the best in their respective fields. They also bring invaluable perspectives from across the Commonwealth — from Danville, Hampton Roads, Richmond, NOVA, and more.
I’m grateful to get to work with these incredibly dedicated, hard-working, and talented cabinet officials to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Democrats are openly saying that if they get power, they will:
✅Mass amnesty (30M+ new voters)
✅End the filibuster, pack SCOTUS
✅Eliminate the Electoral College
✅End social media free speech
✅Add 2 blue states (DC & PR)
✅MAGA arrests, de-banking
✅National ban on voter ID
They're admitting to this OUT LOUD, and you want to sit home & let them assume power?

My man @nayibbukele is a great man.
I don’t know if he realizes it or not, but dude is a character straight out of the Book of Mormon.
Nou pa gen okenn enterè ni pou nou vin domine pèp ayisyen an, ni pou nou mete men sou richès Ayiti.
Nou se yon peyi modès k ap devlope. Sèl sa nou vle, se pou kat teknisyen avyasyon nou yo tounen lakay yo. Epi n ap bay gang yo yon leson, gang sa yo k ap fè pèp ayisyen an soufri, ki touye moun pèp la renmen yo, k ap anpeche l viv yon lavi nòmal, lib, san laperèz.
Nou vin ann Ayiti pou nou goumen kont mechan yo.
Men sa m ap mande nou: fè nou konfyans, lapriyè sèl vrè Bondye a, epi mande L pou L geri Ayiti.
“Lè sa a si pèp ki pote non m lan lapriyè nan pye m, si yo soumèt devan mwen, si yo pran chache m ankò, si yo vire do bay vye peche yo t'ap fè yo, m'ap tande yo nan syèl kote m ye a, m'ap padonnen peche yo, m'ap fè peyi a kanpe ankò.”
2 Kwonik 7:14
Ede nou ede Ayiti.
Epi lè misyon nou an fini, n ap tounen lakay nou. Petèt jenerasyon Ayisyen k ap vini yo ap sonje nou kòm zanmi ki te vin ede yon lè.
The left pursues no objective "good." Like the prideful, their only concern is comparison.
With no objective good, their goal cannot be to lift--lift whom to where? The very question is arbitrary and meaningless to them. The only goal is to remove all basis for comparison--to remove all differences.
That is why making everyone equally poor makes perfect sense to them. Making Elon poor satisfies the only objective goal they understand.
This is leftist heaven--their state of repose. Where the inferior and the mediocre need not suffer the indignity of comparison to something better.

Same thing. Bad-faith confusion candidates should be illegal.

BREAKING: Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro has declared himself the winner of Brazil's election, says he will lead the opposition from the United States.
Bolsonaro thanked the "wonderful American people" for welcoming him.
"On Sunday night, I watched in shock as an electoral fraud unfolded before my eyes."
"The illegitimate and illegal actions of Lula's former lawyer allowed a mathematical impossibility to materialize, and Lula added more than 10 million votes from the first to the second round."
"A decision by the STF, made over the authority of the TSE, extended voting at the last minute, and the order only arrived after the legal closing time, when the ballot boxes had already been closed."
"Voters were subjected to different rules. To this day, the TSE has not managed to defend the extension of voting hours, and there is not even a single credible answer..."
"I want to be clear: I did not flee Brazil; I left for Brazil's sake. I left a state of exception so I can be the leader my people deserve, because silenced, imprisoned, and censored, as my father is, I could not be that leadership, and we would be handed over to the institutional theater of a castrated opposition controlled by a Supreme Court full of servants of the regime..."
"In the coming days, I will address the Brazilian people regularly, and we will present a strategy to mobilize the opposition and the immense popular support we have, by all peaceful and legitimate means, to prevent Lula from consolidating a dictatorial regime in Brazil. I ask each of you to remain firm and stand by this."
"I left Brazil, but I did not abandon Brazilians. This struggle did not end on October 25. It only ends when Brazil becomes a free country again. And that day will come."
