Thought o' the day...
Maffetone was a long way ahead of his time.
The simple idea of keeping the aerobic work rolling until the heart rate test plateaus & then (& only then) shifting emphasis is more powerful than most realize.

Been a paid @Strava member for about a decade (and enjoy it), but the number of unforced errors this company makes....
Strava has just started doubling its prices, but they concurrently refuse to tell me what the actual price of Strava is now. This is arguably the most insane post I've ever written, as I try and get to the bottom of the unannounced Strava price increases: dcrainmaker.com/2023/01/stra…

An important reminder as we head into #Heat season:
You won't be as fast in the heat as you are in cool temps. Your thresholds will move.
Listen to your heart rate, *not* your 'cool' pace/power & adjust those zones accordingly!

"These data indicate heart rates measured at physiological thresholds in temperate environments are reflective of measurements taken under moderate environmental heat stress."
#HeartRate at the thresholds remains the same, it is the *power* that is reduced (10-17%) in the heat.
