Neoplatonists will quibble with this but I find it quite a compelling criticism.

You have to actually mean these things from inside their appropriately apprehended signs. And they must be done with actual movements of the heart and mind. A man who prays rosary by moving beads and mouthing words he does not at all know does not pray rosary. But it is so with all the postures and movements for which many even traditional men are badly disposed or seem to be so disposed on the basis of matters entirely extraneous to the gestures.

I practice kneeling and receiving on the tongue, or receiving on the tongue alone when kneeling is physically inconvenient. The extremism at issue in the Dicastery's recent warning is not the practice of kneeling or receiving on the tongue, but the behavior of groups that turn these matters into occasions of division and confusion. The extremism they're talking about is the constant screaming over the top of other members of the faithful that they are committing sacrilege for receiving Communion in the hand, a method of reception that is not only expressly permitted but recognized as legitimate by the Church, and you all know that. Your pretending to not know what this stuff is about is an annoyance and beneath everyone's intelligence.
It was not and remains not your place to conduct this supposed ministry of denouncing the rest of the faithful, particularly given that the argument involved is fundamentally wrong and that you have a terrible conception of what an increase in liturgical piety consists in and how to go about effecting that increase.
At least the veiling fight has a good argument.
The Vatican liturgy office finally spoke on the matter of Communion in the hand versus Communion on the tongue.
It warned against the danger of extremism in the liturgical sphere, referring to those who insist on kneeling and receiving Communion on the tongue.
Well, we all know that Communion on the hand was practised in the early Church before receiving on the tongue became the general practice in the West. So, were those who received Communion on the hand before that change wrong?
If the Church permitted Communion on the hand before the practice of receiving on the tongue became widespread, and the same Church permits both practices today, I don't see any problem with it.
The only problem is the failure to catechise the faithful properly. People must understand that they are receiving the actual Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, not a symbol or representation of Him.
Therefore, when receiving Communion in the hand, the faithful must be taught to consume the Host reverently and ensure that no particles are carelessly discarded. If they are not properly taught and end up brushing particles off their hands, the responsibility also falls on those who have failed to teach them properly. You cannot simply blame the communicant who was never properly catechised.
Communion in the hand does not reduce the Eucharist to ordinary bread. You are still receiving Jesus Christ.
And this argument that your hands must be consecrated before you can receive Communion doesn't follow, because your tongue isn't consecrated. If your tongue is not consecrated, why can't you receive the Eucharist in your hand and place it on your tongue?
There are reasons why the Church permits these different practices. We should not turn the matter into religious extremism. That's what the Vatican office of the liturgy is saying.
I think, if you prefer to kneel as a personal devotion, fine. If you stand, that does not make your reception of the Eucharist less valid. The posture does not change the fact that you are receiving Jesus Christ.
That being said, I still remain tTeam Kneeling Down And Receiving Communion On The Tongue!

Yeah, the whole “Americans are uniquely materialistic” thing is complete nonsense. I don't know if it was ever true. It's a hippie stereotype and represents American self-critique more than anything, and foreigners pick it up as a self-congratulatory polemic. You'll find a much coarser materialistic outlook on life in places like China or India - status in (mainland) Chinese culture really does orbit around money, for instance. America has plenty of pathologies but only caring about money isn't actually one of them. Americans are obsessed with serving a higher purpose, “calling”, etc. Americans, even the wealthiest of them, are drunk on such aspirations, however misguided they are as to their content.
America is not nearly as “materialistic” as it often seems to many people in Europe, and it is interested not only in “business” and “atom danger” but also in “questions of the Spirit.” There is a wide field here for Orthodox “mission,” or rather “catechesis.” But unfortunately Orthodoxy, and Russian Orthodoxy especially, is interested not in this but in squabbles, intrigues, vanity and “national pride.”

Possibility is always more beautiful than reality. It is the allure of possibility, where what is logically possible is alloyed, in wild imagination, to what is reasonably possible and most likely, that moves us to realize anything and become fast disappointed. We slam into the immovable concrete, the reduction of our idle, hazy reveries to fact, and still into an occasion for new dreams.

Friends, most “spiritual but not religious” people, though they may disdain the traditional churches, remain hungry for meaning, purpose, community, and ritual—four values classically offered by religion.
They have found these in some odd places, and it would be easy enough to write off those frankly weird forms of religiosity. But this would be seeing the glass as half empty.
Rather, we should rejoice that the religious instinct remains vibrantly alive in them—and go out to meet it!

It really seems like Sneako ended his career the moment he found out who Andrew Tate was. I can’t think of anyone who has burned more bridges or is now more universally reviled than Sneako, a guy who skipped from community to community and trend to trend in order to keep himself in a state of constant relevance. He traded public favor for attention and became staggeringly infamous, and so got precisely what he asked for.
He should have stuck to artsy vlogs about feeling sad as a mixed-race guy in Uptown Manhattan, so as to never be seen by his audience but through a fisheye lens and well-placed jump cuts. Streaming compelled him to show more of himself to his audience, and no one liked what they saw, least of all Sneako himself.

I really wish this were true but unfortunately it isn't and to persist in thinking so is simply a reflection of your own poor use and limited imagination. Train Claude on exemplary prose stylists of your choice—upload entire books—and watch it fly where before it walked.
No that’s not it. AI writing is not good writing at all. Much less “too good.” It’s neat, yes. Perfectly spelled and punctuated. This writing itself is atrociously bad, though. Bland and dull and utterly devoid of style or personality. But it’s bad in a bizarre, uncanny way. Bad but perfectly coherent. Whereas bad human writing is generally bad because it’s not coherent. Maybe that’s the thing that makes AI slop so easy to spot. It is coherently shitty. A weird combination.
