Gratitude Begins With Noticing
We often spend so much time thinking about what is missing, unfinished, or going wrong that we overlook what is already good.
Our minds naturally pay attention to problems because recognising threats helps us respond to them. But when problems occupy all our attention, we may miss the ordinary moments that also deserve appreciation.
This month we are invited to widen our attention, not to deny our difficulties, but to be reminded that they are not always the full story.
🌿 Today's Reflection: What is one blessing you noticed today that you might otherwise have taken for granted?

We have spent years encouraging people to speak up about their #mentalhealth .
But what happens when they finally do?
Are services accessible? Are families prepared to support them? Are our communities safe enough for honest conversations?
#Breakingthesilence matters. Building systems that respond with compassion and appropriate care matters just as much.

Congratulations to @Ugpsychiatrists on the 100 psychiatrists milestone. It's been quite a journey.
But the next question is bigger: What must we build around those 100 so that #mentalhealthcare reaches the person who may never enter a psychiatric hospital?
@MinofHealthUG knows that the Mental health burden cannot be left to specialists alone. We need continue building strong referral pathways, psychologists and other professionals, informed families, equipped communities, supportive workplaces, schools and faith communities that know how to notice distress and connect people to appropriate care.

Day 6 #stress
When stress steals your sleep and sharpens your edge.
And insomnia keeps the lights on, as irritability turns every small thing into a fight.
Recovery does not always mean that every difficult memory disappears. Sometimes recovery means the memories no longer control every part of your life. You learn how to carry what happened while continuing to build the kind of life you want to live.

Day 2: #Stress
A tired mind deserves care. 🌿
“He refreshes my soul.” Psalm 23:3
Today, notice one worry crowding your thoughts. Write it down, bring it to God in prayer, and give yourself permission to do one thing at a time.

As we come to the end of our journey through #ThePsalmsRoom having named what is within us, made room for pain, and faced the noise of uncertainty we are reminded that sometimes moving forward requires remembering how far we have already come #TheRoomofRemembrance.
People tend to become less honest when it repeatedly costs them relationships
If one's vulnerability is met with anger, ridicule or a lecture, silence will feel safer than truth.
Healthy relationships shouldn't merely demand honesty, they should create safe space for them
Some prayers shouldn't be requests for God to remove a certain burden or obstacle.
Those prayers should instead be requests to God for strength to remain in possession of "The Fruit of the Spirit" while living through it.
Faith does not require us to deny the reality of pain and struggles.
I beleive one of faith's deepest forms is being able to bring your whole, unedited self into the presence of God

EMOTIONAL MATURITY is being able to always ask yourself:
“Does this situation truly require a response, or has it merely touched or tickled an old wound within me?”
Sometimes intense feelings are invitations for us to understand ourself more deeply and act with wisdom.
Sometimes exhaustion isn't cause of doing too much.
It can be from carrying too much in silence without the words to explain it or even no one to share it with.
Rest restores the body; but some kinds of tiredness require more than sleep. They require honesty

What is stirring in you as you follow the path God has placed before you?
A meaningful calling (God-sized goal) can uncover feelings we never anticipated joy, apprehension, confusion, self-doubt, envy, weariness, or hesitation.

Over the past 3 weeks of August, we have explored our theme of GOD-SIZED GOALS.
One year ago, @LMPsychologist began with a God-given burden: to build a bridge between Christian faith and evidence-based psychological care.

#financialfreedom doesn’t come from hoping things will get better. It comes from deciding before the money even lands what you want it to do for you. Because if you don’t give your money direction, pressure will.

This week, we continue our July theme of #financialfreedom, with Week 3 exploring Money, Love, and Stewardship
Money has been used to express love, care, generosity, & responsibility but it has also been used to carry guilt, pressure, control, silence, resentment, & fear.

A school trip should end with children returning home tired, noisy and full of stories.
The recent crashes involving school children have broken that ordinary promise. As a father, I grieve with every family living through the call no parent should receive. 1/3
As a psychologist, I am thinking about the survivors, injured children, siblings, classmates & parents.
The road may be cleared quickly; fear, grief & disturbing memories will surely remain. They need truthful communication, practical care & sustained emotional support. 2/3
