Strongly recommend the exhibition “Equus” of works by Kannadiga artist M. Narayan at Delhi’s Bikaner House. If you like racehorses there are plenty here — in colour, monochrome, with jockeys and without, in perpetual motion…. My own fondness is for his more vivid works from a sojourn in Kerala. (The artist appears in the last two pix; the others feature curator Uma Nair and my intern Nandini Agrawal)

#WATCH | On Shashi Tharoor's remark on the Exit Polls, Union Minister and BJP candidate from Thiruvananthapuram Rajeev Chandrasekhar says, "...Rahul Gandhi should start a gym. Shashi Tharoor should start an English training institute. The Congress party has many people who are very good with language and speak very eloquently and I think these elections will point them towards a new occupation...The people of India want their political leaders who serve them, who can improve their lives and certainly, this group of people whether that is Rahul Gandhi or anybody else cannot fit the bill..."

These are important projects which will go a long way in enhancing infrastructure in the border areas!
Dedicated to the nation 90 infrastructure projects constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), worth over Rs 2,900 crore and spread across 11 States/Union Territories.
The BRO has done excellent work in the recent years and it has emerged as a shining example of civil-military fusion.

It is a matter of immense personal satisfaction that in the present session 2 bills have been passed in #Parliament on which many hours of hearing stakeholders and analysing provisions have been spent by 2 separate Parliamentary Committees of which I’m a member. The first - the Mediation Bill (scrutinised by the Committee on Public Grievances, Personnel &Law&Justice) will ease the burden of arrears in civil courts&tribunals, facilitate speedy & inexpensive justice& hopefully make India an international mediation hub. The second - the Jan Vishwas Bill( dealt with by the specially constituted Jan Vishwas committee which analysed almost 200 criminal provisions & recommended that they be decriminalised) has removed from the statute books several decrepit colonial provisions, rationalised the criminal law, reduced the burden on criminal courts and facilitated the ease of doing business. It was a pleasure working with all members of both committees consisting of members from all parties. Whatever optics the floors of both houses afford, all members across party lines work in right earnest for public interest in Parliamentary Committees
