we’ve been busy building the perfect tool for designers who code, and i’m so excited to share it with the world today

Current design world reminds me of times when Product / UX / UI designers switched from PS to Sketch (and then to Figma).
In retrospect - I did a switch way too late.
Now I am jumping straight from Figma (skipping Paper) to @SubframeApp
Is this good decision @IrvinZhan?!

Work in parallel with multiple windows in the desktop app.
- One window for each project or worktree
- Many windows for one project
- Window for designing + window for your agent
Do more in Subframe.

my monday morning as a designer in 2026:
1. arrive at office early to catch the morning light
2. check in on @conductor_build sessions sent off last night (planning/research)
3. open up each worktree in @SubframeApp to review/test/iterate on canvas & local build (focus mode)
4. make a pr

When designing for AI, I think a good principle is letting your users "show not tell"
For example, I hate telling AI to "make this go from 12 to 16px". What I really want is to just point at something and have the agent know exactly what I mean.
This has been a guiding principle for how we've tried to innovate on design tooling.
Here I'm using Subframe's inspect mode on a live site to leave comments, make visual tweaks, and preview them live. Then I just send the feedback to the agent directly in the chat to implement.
I'd love to find more examples of this. What other products do this well?
yes but also:
1. design shapes & is shaped by technical constraints. a tv isn't about selling a box, it's about light rays hitting your eyeballs.
2. product maturity affords higher fidelity in design. zoom in and study the details, it can be just as interesting as the broad form (at least for us designers)
3. use convergence as a standard to judge good design. different is good enough. it must also be better.
been seeing some crazy workflows with @conductor_build and agents designing on a canvas & documenting visual diffs in subframe
oh and we don't make you pay extra to use your own tokens

Hey guys it’s out.
So excited of what the Subframe team has built.
Design tools have evolved beyond being in just one enclosed sandbox and Subframe has built something that brings all your favourite new workflows in one place.
I’ll encourage everyone to check it out.
It’s really good!
Congrats to the team👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I've gotten to play with this new app and it's a really very cool, very interesting design tool. Okay, I'm biased, Character invested in Subframe. But I mean come on they have a screenshot of Mezzanine by Massive Attack in the video so you know they're legit
