What is the truth?
On October 14, 2026, the two people sentenced to death in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, were *Nazrul Islam Abdul Basir and Siti Akhtar* from Bangladesh, and they weren't even husband and wife.
According to Bangladeshi media, Nazrul had gone to Saudi Arabia in 2022 as a cleaner, and Siti was working there.
In May 2023, about 1 month before Hajj, both were allegedly caught by Saudi security forces inside a mosque in Mecca committing immoral acts.
After that, they spent more than 3 years in jail, the trial took place in Jeddah court, and upon being found guilty, by royal order, they were hanged in Mecca on October 14, 2026. Their bodies were sent to Bangladesh on October 18.
Why was the punishment so severe?
Every mosque in Mecca has its own sanctity; it is connected to our Prophet ﷺ.
Under Saudi Arabia's "Public Decency Law," such acts in a mosque are strictly prohibited, and violating the sanctity in a Mecca mosque makes the case extremely serious under "Ta'zir," which can carry the death penalty.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Interior, the charges against both of committing "fi'al al-fahisha" inside the mosque—that is, a serious sexual act of an obscene nature / adultery—were proven.
Bangladesh's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam herself confirmed this on October 17.
So the question isn't where they were from; the question is—will you respect the purity of Allah's house or not?
A mosque is a place of worship,
not shamelessness! Whoever does such a thing on Mecca's sacred land will surely face punishment.

நம்பிக்கையின் பாதை!
நண்பர்களே,
வாழ்க்கையில் பல நேரங்களில் நாம் நடக்கும் பாதை எப்படிப்பட்டது என்றே தெரியாமல் திகைத்து நிற்போம். இருள் சூழ்ந்த வழியில் ஒளியைத் தேடி அலைவது போல, அடுத்து என்ன செய்வது என்று புரியாத குழப்பம் நம்மை ஆட்கொள்ளும். அந்தச் சமயத்தில் நமக்குத் தேவைப்படுவது பயம் அல்ல, மாறாக ஒரு துளி அசைக்க முடியாத நம்பிக்கை.
அந்த ஆறுமுகன் நமக்கு எப்போதும் வெளிப்படையாக வழியைக் காட்டி விடுவதில்லை. ஆனால் நாம் நம்பிக்கையோடு எடுத்து வைக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு அடியின் பின்னேயும் அவன் தன் கைகளைப் பரப்பித் தாங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான். நாம் தடுமாறி விழும் போதெல்லாம் நம்மைத் தாங்கிப் பிடிக்கும் சக்தி அந்த வேலனின் திருநாமத்திற்கு உண்டு.
வாழ்க்கைப் பயணம் எவ்வளவுதான் முட்கள் நிறைந்ததாக இருந்தாலும், நம்முடன் அந்தத் தமிழ்கடவுள் இருக்கிறான் என்ற எண்ணம் வந்துவிட்டால் போதும், எந்தக் கடினமான பாதையையும் எளிதாகக் கடந்துவிடலாம். மனிதர்களின் வாக்குகள் மாறலாம், சூழ்நிலைகள் மாறலாம், ஆனால் அந்தத் தெய்வீகக் கருணை எப்போதுமே நம்மை விட்டு விலகாது.
எல்லாக் கதவுகளும் அடைபட்டுவிட்டதாகத் தோன்றும் இடத்தில்தான், அவனது அருளின் கதவு திறக்கும். அந்த விசுவாசத்தோடு இன்றைய நாளைத் தொடங்குவோம்.

இன்று உங்கள் வாழ்வில் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட முடிவு எட்டப்படாமல் குழப்பத்தில் இருக்கிறீர்களா? கவலை வேண்டாம். அந்த வேலனிடம் பொறுப்பை ஒப்படைத்துவிட்டு ஒரு அடி முன் வையுங்கள். பாதை தானே தெளிவாகும்.

The tradition of singing the Thirumurais to the accompaniment of the Yazh, an ancient Tamil stringed instrument, has a history stretching back more than a thousand years.
During the 7th century CE, Thiruneelakanta Yazhpanar and his wife, Mathanga Choolamaniyar, accompanied Thirugnanasambandar on his pilgrimages. While Yazhpanar set Sambandar’s divine Pathigams to music on his Yazh, his wife sang them, enriching the great tradition of Tamil devotional music.
How heartening it is to see this ancient musical heritage being kept alive even today! Here is a beautiful rendition of a verse from the Mootha Thirupathigam of Karaikal Ammaiyar, one of the earliest and most revered Shaiva saints.
A wonderful reminder of the remarkable continuity of our Tamil Shaiva devotional traditions!
