One day, I’ll write an article or a thread about location managers in Nollywood. There is something inherently evil about charging ₦2m per day for a house when the owners don’t even receive up to ₦700k. Then filmmakers arrive to shoot, the homeowners are cranky, one thing leads to another, and the shoot gets cancelled.
Our greed is a lot. Honesty is really not that hard. The change we want must actually start with us.

I am sure Doctors are yet to see the Armed Forces Medical College proposal, 6 years of medical school, 1 year military training and 1 year housemanship and they will be commissioned as Captains. I can remember saying the Military should commission Medical Officers as Doctors.

A few decades ago, I remembered reading the Lives and Time of Siegmund Warburg, by one of my favorite authors, Niall Ferguson. I was stunned at the depth of family history and I promised myself to attempt a project like this.
Two years ago, I got our “Àrólé” to document our family history and also triangulated the piece with other families in the community. We must own our stories and pass it on.
We are setting up a podcast room at @OnigbindeCentre to document and archive family histories in our beautiful town. I believe we are at a critical moment in history when we must deliberately preserve the stories, memories, and experiences that have shaped our communities.
For generations, our history has been passed down through oral traditions, with elders and community leaders serving as custodians of our collective memory.
But time is moving, and many of these custodians are ageing. With every passing generation, we risk losing invaluable accounts of our origins, family lineages, cultural practices, community struggles, and defining moments. @kolaayanwuyi
