Hi, hello, one of my family members had a home birth and almost bled out, natural things can become emergencies very quickly.
The medicalization of childbirth has turned one of the most NATURAL processes in human history into a medical EMERGENCY.
Your great-grandmother gave birth at home surrounded by women who loved her. She was upright, moving, and in control.
Today, birth happens under fluorescent lights. You're on your back — the worst position for delivery. Hooked to monitors. On a timeline set by the hospital's shift schedule.
If you don't dilate fast enough, they give you Pitocin. Pitocin makes contractions more painful. So you get an epidural. The epidural slows labor. So they suggest a C-section. And the C-section rate in America is now 32% — one in three births.
I'm not anti-medicine. If there's a real emergency, modern medicine saves lives. But the cascade of unnecessary interventions has convinced women that their bodies are broken.
Your body was literally designed for this. Trust it more.
