Morning. Interesting idea was brought up last night at a meeting for the virtual fencing collars for cattle. Put the collars on the wolves too so if they get close to cattle it deters them. Probably to logical to be put in place.

Salvation is God’s greatest gift - we are not just saved from something, we are saved to something.
Interesting life event. I noticed I no longer twitch when my phone rings. I do however have at least one PTSD nightmare per week about my former life as a feedlot operator. Small steps I guess.

The breakeven spreadsheet you build every year is worthless if you aren’t paying attention to your balance sheet trend.

The worst thing I ever did in a hard year was keep it from my wife to protect her. Once you aren't straight with somebody about one thing, they've got no reason to believe you about anything.

Steel prices are higher now than during the huge spike up in Covid, close to record if not record high. Data center demand for steel buildings and infrastructure are the cause!! The amount of money to build them is endless!!

Why are the young families missing from your church?
Because your congregation has no shared economic life.
You share a hymnal on Sunday, and on Monday every household is an island fighting inflation alone. The older men sit on commercial real estate and successful businesses while the young fathers drown in rent.
Take the risk. Back the young men in your church. Fund their start-up. Bring them in as apprentices to mentor.
Be a faithful patriarch to your own people, not an isolated consumer.

We got the last of the hay hauled. It reminds me of a story the neighbor tells about when he first moved on the place. The old owner handed him the keys and said, when you get the last load of hay hauled in,leave it on the truck, because you will be feeding in the morning

Nick Saban says he had lived his entire life like he was in a hurry and didn’t even realize it
“When I retired, and I don’t know if I ever shared this with anybody, I spent 50 years of my life being in a hurry and didn’t know it.”
“I retired and the cars are backed up on the bridge and it goes down to one lane. In the old days, I would be the guy that passed all the cars up and cut in at the last minute in front of somebody.”
“I sat there with Miss Terry in the car. She says, ‘You mean you’re not going to pass everybody illegally and cut in?’ I said, ‘We’re not in a hurry.’”
“But it’s the first time when I retired that I realized that I wasn’t in a hurry. And I was in a hurry for 50 years and didn’t know it.”
“I was always hurrying up to the next thing. Solve the next problem, go to the next thing. And you talk about relieving stress, that relieves stress better than anything. I just noticed it in that circumstance. Not cutting into traffic and waiting my turn.”

Got to hand it to Bill Maher. We may not agree on everything but thank God he is calling out the insanity. That takes moral courage & principles. And deserves respect.

His answer: “Every job in my field is temporary.”

The only way to fix that is to increase the drop value for small processors. Hard to do when the big 4 control the majority of the outlets. JBS just purchased that largest leather maker in the world. What can they do with that control? Drop the hide values offered to outside companies and drive up profits on leather.

All thanks to needing chapstick my daughter just saved a woman's life just now.
We were driving to eldest granddaughter's soccer game when she pulled over on some random patch of gravel on the side of the road to get Chapstick out of the back of the car. The road was busy. My granddaughters were noisy. Nonetheless she heard someone yelling faintly "help. Help!"
She ran across the road and saw a woman laying on her garage floor. 78 years old. No family. No cell phone. Lovely home. She had been on the ground for over eight hours. She said she tripped over nothing. We all prayed with her until the paramedics came.
I do believe in angels. And my daughter was guided by one today.
All because of Chapstick

It’s real bad, what’s worse is the gambling apps find that you are on a losing streak and throw incentives at you to keep going. It’s predatory.
