Our documentary “The Upside Down Tornado Alley: Storm Chasing in Brazil” drops this weekend.
It documents @TheNaderMike’s storm chase in Brazil, featuring @gabriel_zapa, @PrevisaoMasters, @claros_rafael, @GoedeTDS2, and more — plus a @ConvChronicles cameo!

This is a big win, but other areas need a #wx radar unit too:
- MS delta
- Northern MO
- OK/NM/CO region
- NE panhandle
- Southeastern OK/northeastern TX
- IA-MN state line
- Central SD
- Southeastern MT
- Northern WI
- Central MN
- Northwest and southeast OH
- Southwest-middle TN
- Southwest-central AL
Among others. Plenty of work left to do!
AMAZING news as Missouri officials have just approved funding for a new radar unit in southeastern Missouri!
This new SEMO radar will be in Van Buren, directly in the radar hole you see in red near the bootheel.
This will massively help in severe weather monitoring! #MOwx
The next step is to get another radar unit in northern Missouri, which has an even larger radar hole.
Notably, this is where the Unionville, MO #tornado took place on June 10th of this year.
This region deserves better coverage. #MOwx

Sometimes you just know a storm is going to be a tornado producer from the moment it goes up... this was one of those storms
This is straight out of @MatthewCappucci's dreams man my goodness this is WILD. South American storm track has been going crazy.

Who knew a simple low pressure system could lead to such INSANE satellite imagery!
@AtmosWX
This is absolutely insane. Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted.
An impressive wedge tornado struck the airport and an aircraft in the city of Chapecó, Santa Catarina, Brazil, earlier today. Radar imagery captured by the Previsão Masters app (previsaomasters.com).
While uncertainty still remains, it looks like one of those first blasts of cooler air may be coming this weekend (Nov. 6/7/8).
Euro & AI Euro ensembles steadily holding this pattern. NBM as well.
This screenshot is from the Euro ENS. Winter COULD be coming! #wx
Winter might be on the brink of arrival in North America.
Teleconnections provide the background that translates down to local weather. Much discussion has revolved around the strong El Niño, but there are plenty of other teleconnections that change things up.
A negative Arctic Oscillation and positive Pacific-North American are forecast to occur. This, paired with a surge of moisture from the El Niño-fueled subtropical jet that is expected to get active, will favor our persistent ridge shifting to the west, allowing a much more active storm track east of the Rockies.
It will also favor arctic air seeping down south paired with a weakening of the polar vortex, providing the cold air necessary for the first major cold snap and potentially impactful winter weather.
There is some uncertainty surrounding this, and teleconnections never guarantee localized weather, but it is something to continue to monitor closely over the next 7-14 days. #wx

Pouring one out for the NAM today
Today's the day. We salute you, NAM; thank you for your service. Rest in peace.
The RRFS now takes over as one of our main short-range forecast models. For more info on the RRFS and REFS, check out my recent video on them: youtube.com/watch?v=A4amTqLZ…
Things starting to heat up a bit in Oklahoma!
Lots of upscale growth in cells leading to clustering, but a few persistent cells could still do it.
Stay weather aware. We are LIVE! #wx
Already getting a wall cloud just WSW of Enid, Oklahoma -- storms starting to get going early here in the plains! #wx
