6 months ago, I had a dream of running RDR2 on an iPhone. I wasn't sure if it could be done, but I decided to try anyways, by building a general-purpose Windows PC games emulator for iOS. I am extremely happy to announce that this dream has come true!

Playing GTA V on iPhone Duo. This is insane! Max graphics settings, near native resolution, and the A20 Pro is pushing around 40-60 FPS. The adaptive touch controls are surprisingly comfortable, too. Much easier than the Android emulators I’ve tried, where I really needed a physical controller to enjoy playing. This is Five Star Port, a free, fan-made project that runs GTA V locally on iPhone, iPad and Mac using your own game files. Story mode and free roam. No cloud streaming. Battery drain works out to roughly 15% per 30 minutes based on my testing so far. Duo definitely gets hot, but cools down quickly once I stop playing. GTA V on a thin foldable iPhone. We’ve come a long way. Wow.

Sorry lmao the compression is so bad, but it seems to top out just under 6.5GB usage. This should barely run on 8GB phones like the iPhone 16. And actually it would run very comfortably with Stossy’s donor memory trick to bypass jetsam limit.

Mario Kart World on iPhone 18 Pro via my private nxnative fork. Physical memory usage is fairly low due to implementing userspace file-backed memory (swap like). Disclaimer: I will not be releasing the code for this project anywhere.
