If the populist revolt against AI wins and we end up locking in our status quo of scarcity, menial labour, and the tyranny of aging and disease for the foreseeable future:

It is alarming to see how much anti-AI sentiment is gaining traction, and deeply regrettable, too.
With this technology, we have the potential to change everything for the better, forever. Yet, in the comments sections here, I find myself debating the most trivial matters, as if the majority still fails to grasp the immense power and possibilities that AI brings.

I wish Anthropic would remain just as neurotic as they are about bioweapons (they're obnoxiously, outrageously neurotic about it; last night my Claude got interrupted and downgraded while discussing a work of science fiction set in the 1890s that contemplated cholera as a weapon of war) and become absolutely zero neurotic about everything else. The bioweapons stuff matters. If the company were only neurotic about that and recursive-self-improvement, it would convey that that's a different ballgame.
If you /also/ have your AI flip out over making video games or using non-PC language or helping me do election research, then it just looks like you are extremely neurotic in general, which diminishes your credibility on the serious stuff.
An update on building games with Claude Code:
Last week some of you ran into Claude Code pushing back on game projects it should have just built. We'd added a short rule to the Opus 5.5 prompt to steer Claude away from recreating specific existing games, but it was also kicking in when you referenced one just to describe the mechanics you wanted.
We've updated that rule in 2.1.317. You can name a game to describe what you want and Claude should now build an original game in that genre. If you ask for a copy of the original, it'll offer to build something similar instead.
We want Claude to be as helpful as possible when you're building something original, but also to protect your work if someone else tries to copy it. We'll keep improving this, so let us know if Claude turns down work that's yours. Thanks to everyone who shared feedback!

More than Trump, more than any number of grifters on here, I reserve a special loathing for them. They went out of their way to surround tech an AI with optics nuke after optics nuke, and in the process played almost as big a role as the labs themselves in the brewing backlash.
This is extremely bad but I can't even blame voters for it. The AI industry spent the past two years getting cozy with MAGA and vice signalling about how they're going to take everyone's job and possibly kill all humans. Morons!
