Shiba Inus are Japan's native dogs just like the stray dogs of India. Japan chose to revere their native breed dog over foreign breeds unlike India
These are the top 10 breeds that are most popular in India and Indian dogs don't make it. This is a colonial hangover.
India has approximately 400-500 million so called dog lovers yet they prefer foreign breeds who are bred in puppy mills in extreme cruelty yet to show off these pseudo dog lovers will buy a golden retriever or a labrador or even husky in 40°C weather.
If the Indian dogs had been adopted in a mass scale over these foreign breeds then it would have prevented the brutality of puppy mills and solved the problem of the native Indian dogs suffering on the streets, dying from human menace
Even bollywood for status symbol chose to buy dogs over adopting Indian native dogs.
These are not dog lovers but status hungry individuals who will cast away their breed dogs on the road if they do not match the insta reels
Only a handful of people truly love Indian dogs but unfortunately 1 individual cannot keep more than 4-5 dogs in their homes. Each lane has 20+ dogs which is not possible for 1 genuine animal lover to adopt
If you are a genuine animal lover, then adopt native Indian dogs
