speaking from experience, i have been thinking a lot this year about what a blessing it is to have many friendships and a thriving social life considering that my parents don’t have friends and i essentially didn’t really know what friendship was like until middle school
like i met one of my dad’s alleged best friends at his funeral this year and he didn’t know i existed 💀 and my mom doesn’t have friends but so many caribbean women like her emigrate from the islands with no intent to socialize much outside of church
