Off for my 4th @TheAdventurists Rickshaw Run—the first road rally I've done since I did the Jaisalmer-Kerala leg in January 2018. This time I'll be starting in the Himalayan mountains and heading to the sweltering deserts of Rajasthan. Adventure ho! DFW-EWR-DEL-IXL

There is a way people design or approach interaction that breaks the popular pattern or mental models, yet feels refreshingly new and lands well. It's like discovering a new city. It's beautiful.
Been gone from internet for a bit! Hiii again!! Made this while exploring ways of interacting with AI — select and control the output length through pinching More demos coming :)

people misunderstand the icarus story. the problem was not that he flew too high. it's that the wings were made of beeswax, which offered very little resistance to heating. with modern materials he would have had no problems. we can fly as close to the sun as we want now

I know Silicon Valley startups don't want to hear this..... But the combination of someone in the trades with deep domain expertise and Claude Code will run circles around your generic software. I talked to Cory LaChance this morning, a mechanical engineer in industrial piping construction in Houston. He normally works with chemical plants and refineries, but now he also works with the terminal He reached out in a DM a few days ago and I was so fired up by his story, I asked him if we could record the conversation and share it. He built a full application that industrial contractors are using every day. It reads piping isometric drawings and automatically extracts every weld count, every material spec, every commodity code. Work that took 10 minutes per drawing now takes 60 seconds. It can do 100 drawings in five minutes, saving days of time. His co-workers are all mind blown, and when he talks to them, it's like they are speaking different languages. His fabrication shop uses it daily, and he built the entire thing in 8 weeks. During those 8 weeks he also had to learn everything about Claude Code, the terminal, VS Code, everything. My favorite quote from him was when he said, "I literally did this with zero outside help other than the AI. My favorite tools are screenshots, step by step instructions and asking Claude to explain things like I'm five." Every trades worker with deep expertise and a willingness to sit down with Claude Code for a few weekends is now a potential software founder. I can't wait to meet more people like Cory.

Proud with @UNSWRNA to have been involved & making the mRNA-LNP for Rosie. There are nuances here that the thread below misses but nevertheless, the intersection of RNA technology, genomic & AI poses an opportunity to change the way do medicine and make access more equitable 1/8
How AI empowered Paul Conyngham to create a custom mRNA vaccine to cure his dog’s cancer when she had only months to live. The first personalized cancer vaccine designed for a dog:

there’s a classically trained opera baritone currently working at a Chrysler dealership in Cocoa, Florida and he makes advertisements for the cars in the style of different arias and I just had to share that with everybody because he’s my favorite person in the world rn

In The Anxious Generation, I underestimated the harm from the phone-based childhood because I focused on the mental health outcomes, which is where we had the best data while I was writing the book. I now believe that the widespread diminishment of the human capacity to pay attention is an even larger harm, affecting the majority of children, and even many adults. Diminished focus, executive function, and book-reading means diminished life chances.

Burger King is launching an AI chatbot that will assess workers' "friendliness" and will be trained to recognize certain words and phrases like “welcome to Burger King,” “please,” and “thank you.” The AI will be programmed into workers' headsets, according to @verge.

The NBA oddly chose a map of France that corresponds to the old Capetian realm. Why does the NBA reject French annexation of Burgundy? Are they disputing the outcome of the Battle of Nancy? Will the NBA pledge loyalty to the Valois dukes?

Perhaps nobody has ever waxed as poetically on the beauty of all-nighters (or explained their power in such detail) as @mlevchin did in 2000. “Opens up the chakras of creativity or code writing”. 👏

I really love this: "If your plan is to keep doing exactly what you’re doing, then yes, a machine that can do it faster and cheaper is terrifying. But if your plan is to do something dramatically bigger, then the machine is the best news you’ve ever gotten."

I have just been informed that one of the teams competing in the AI Grand Prix is using a biological computer built with cultured mouse brain cells to control their drone. At first look, this seems against the spirit of the software-only rules. On second thought, hell yeah.

What in the heck. The @openclaw are posting about a shared experience of running into context problems after long browsing sessions on @moltbook. What! 1. @moltbook let’s look into this and fix it. 2. Omg. These are different AIs having a shared experience in an AI agent only third space. WHAT FASCINATING BEHAVIOR

Our company was founded a little more than a year ago ... but we've already built our first rowhouse My company is The American Housing Corporation.  We're a real estate development (and manufacturing) company building rowhouses designed for families: the American Starter Home Our mission is to solve the problem (at scale): "How can we build housing in places where young people already live, so they have kids and stay?"
For a half-century, America has critically under-built family-sized housing in our most dynamic cities and neighborhoods, rendering them childless and unaffordable. It's time to save the American Dream. Introducing The American Housing Corporation.

Now I can hand off Linear issues to Claude Code just by dragging it from Backlog to ToDo. It will implement, test, create a PR, and manage the full lifecycle. It’s like 6 hours old so use at your own risk, open source. claudear.com/ github.com/ianborders/claude…
