Next month SCOTUS will hear Suncor v Boulder County.
This isn't Boulder County serving its voters. This is a campaign by the strategic litigation NGO, @EarthRightsIntl, funded by big foundations to hire law firms to disrupt business via climate lawfare.

California Attorney General, Rob Bonta, keeps showing up on news programs to amplify his attacks on companies like Meta and Paramount.
Why don't the journalists do their job and ask him how much he's getting paid by interest groups?

If anyone doubts this is a tactical strategy, see what @LHreports did with Bloomberg money to publish Bloomberg health dogma.

Governments like the European Commission fund NGOs to campaign. Governments then claim this is the voice of civil society and enact their agenda.
What happens when they get caught?
How does the real civil society feel?

Many of us have forgotten how widespread the "untelligence" was during the height of the catastrophic climate change fear campaign.
While we may have forgotten the well-funded insanity, I cannot forget how Judith Curry stood up to them.

Not if your paymaster is a billionaire philanthropist from the metals industry campaigning to ban plastics. Then lying is an order.

PVC flooring is widely recognized as more sustainable than alternatives.
But Nordic Swan was so afraid of being attacked by activists at Greenpeace they made up nonsense to justify why they couldn't even consider certifying PVC.

Terrific interview with @zaruk. "It looks like there is a whole civil society ecosystem lined up against tobacco harm reduction. But in fact it all flows back to Michael Bloomberg ..."
Mike Bloomberg has spent $1.6 billion undermining the fight against tobacco. This week we speak to David @zaruk - The Risk Monger - who researched how the money is washed into lobbying and anti-science initiatives that parrot Bloomberg talking points. clearingtheair.eu/post/inter…

The activist-organic-litigation industry onslaught against glyphosate has always been based not on science, but moral outrage. It has always presented not facts, but perceptions.
Framing it as a battle between good and evil, the basis has always been weak.

Excellent. The failure of IARC to retract the erroneous Monograph 112 classification of glyphosate is also a refutation of the scientific method. The scientific and procedural errors in the IARC glyphosate deliberations are far more serious those with the Williams et al. paper.

Risk management is common sense: reduce harm while ensuring benefits.
Regulators prefer no clear policy guidance document because vague ambiguity can be convenient for some decisions.
