And now we're being told that keeping RAM in our own PCs is inefficient? People are already struggling to afford the technology they love because of a memory supply crunch and rising component costs. The backlash against Sony's digital-only direction showed what happens when consumers feel their choices are being taken away. The #PSBlackout movement proved that people can organize and make their voices heard. But this time, the frustration goes beyond gaming. If AI giants keep ignoring the impact of their expansion on ordinary consumers, don't be surprised if the backlash moves beyond social media and into real-world protests. Technology is supposed to make people's lives better, not make everyday gadgets unaffordable. AI progress shouldn't come at the expense of everyone else.
