The UK social care sector is a monopsony. In a monopsony the demand-supply "law" doesn't work.
Care work pay saw it's biggest pay increase as the immigrant workforce came in.
The wages are down because the government is not funding the sector enough so the wages can get increased.
Essentially, if you don't want immigrants to do the job, well, demand more funding for social care.

Hereโs one of the most fascinating child development videos Iโve ever shared.
As your baby learns language, they begin by approximating the examples you set.
After a period of early experimentation with sound (including cries, coos and gurgles), infants begin babbling - making speech-like sounds (which often include components of conventional speech) that are - nonetheless - not yet conventionally meaningful.
This babbling phase is a precursor to the use of formal words. And it happens in all languages.
Including sign language.
This video shows an infant (who, by the way, is not hearing impaired) โbabblingโ to her deaf grandparents.
As they sign to her, she responds in kind, using her hands to approximate the signed communication that they are modeling.
Itโs a whole serve and return conversation, just as if they were conversing verbally.
If youโll watch carefully, youโll note distinct turn taking.
And - interestingly - that with her grandparents she largely avoids vocalizations, in favor of gesture.
What a treat to see this rich example of bilingual language development.

This is the Yemenite Children Affair (1950s) : Thousands of babies from poor Yemeni Jewish families โdisappearedโ right after birth in Israeli transit camps and hospitals.
Parents were told their newborns had โsuddenly died.โ
Many were reportedly kidnapped and either:
1. Sold for adoption to childless Ashkenazi families (in Israel and abroad), or
2. Used in medical experiments.
Over 1,000 cases are officially documented.
Some estimates go up to 4,500.
In 2016, Netanyahu publicly acknowledged the state took โhundredsโ of children without consent.

Multiple hospitals have brought back mask mandates just this week. And last week. And the week before that. There have been school closures due to COVID, too. Harassing people who choose to live in reality and to mitigate the harm of COVID is pathetic behaviour.
I mean this with sincere compassion:
What you are experiencing is likely medical OCD. Youโve been traumatized over several years and the result is now a maladaptive behavior. This feels reasonable to you and I understand that. There are entire cohorts of people who are also experiencing medical OCD just like there are cohorts of people with disordered eating. I say this gently, but the vast majority of people are simply existing among the elderly without issue or concern right now. If you want to take some steps towards normalcy and relaxing in public again there are behavioral health pros who specialize in this exact type of issue.
