⏳ Exactly 8 weeks until this baby kicks off! 🚀 Still tickets available, and I'd love to get to know some keen, curious clinicians in the UK 🇬🇧 who love spines 🦴 as much as I do. Maybe we've interacted before. Maybe not. Either way, it'd be great to see you there. 🤝

Also important not to tell ppl >60 they have frozen shoulder without XR - have seen some told they will thaw out in time but they end up having significant OA on XR - very different prognosis.
⛇ 💪 FROZEN SHOULDER is often misdiagnosed. Often the stiffness is secondary to GUARDING and APPREHENSION due to PAIN 🚫 STOP telling patients there are 3 DISTINCT PHASES and instead make sure we aren't misdiagnosing and HELPING our patients ACHIEVE their Goals ! 😁

Great new paper looking at barriers & enablers to exercise A real key message is that most things can be BOTH an enabler/barrier ✅ See & hear the individual ❌ Do not force a vision of exercise on people pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3863…

The gap between psychology and physiotherapy courses is where you find real life patients. Psychology and physiology coexist and are not separate entities.

Trying to understand the complexity of human pain and suffering by splitting it into bio-psycho-social is like trying to understand water by looking at hydrogen and oxygen. The human condition is a complex interacting whole, it's parts don't reveal its complexity. @Retlouping

Sorry to hear about this Matt, an unfortunate example of ignorant care. Yes FCP have short appointment times, but this doesn’t mean simple listening and patient centred care is forgotten

What needed to be done should have been any explanations or actions needed to meet her need ie why did she arrange a primary care appointment in the first place? That's the most important role of FCP. Careful assessment of presenting symptoms and previous mgt to meet current need

Better yet, shoot video demos & upload to your Youtube channel. Add links to your EHR. Then copy/paste their "rehab homework" into their inbox. Huge timesaver, more useful than drawings, and our patients looooove these 😊

It’s interesting how, over my career, the more I’ve learned, the more uncertain I’ve become about whether my interventions are effective or if other factors are at play. I find solace in knowing I’m still promoting health and preventing chronic MSK conditions tho
