Well, how about that! On the most recent episode of Amoeba Records' "What's In My Bag?" series, none other than Elvis Costello proudly pulled a copy of "Treasures of Soviet Animation, Volume 1" out of his shopping bag!
Check out this excerpt, in which Costello talks about how his kids' love of Anime, Manga and horror have opened his mind to new artistic possibilities before calling out the Chatterbird from Roman Kochanov's THE MYSTERY OF THE THIRD PLANET as an especially odd selling point!
Big THANKS to Mr. Costello for checking out our films - hope you and your kids enjoy(ed) them! And extra-special thanks to @amoebarecords not just for the endlessly enjoyable "What's In My Bag?" series, but for proudly stocking Deaf Crocodile films in their store where cool people like Neko Case and Elvis Costello can find them!

A big thanks to my friend @MovieKessler for this original work of art entitled “Get Out.” One of my favorite movies from one of my favorite people. Thanks, Martin.

A self-portrait taken on the set of FULL METAL JACKET using my Rolleiflex's self-timer in 1986.
Although never spoken in the film, Private Joker's real name is J.T. Davis (as seen on the back of his PT sweats). He was named after Specialist James T. Davis, the first U.S. casualty of the Vietnam War. He was killed in action on December 22, 1961.
