When I was a kid in Los Angeles, I took the bus to the beach with my friends, and returned home barefoot and sandy. Now, kids walk to school through underpasses where people shoot up and have sex in cars. Dogs are tortured on Skid Row.
Our current leaders deny this reality, and in an elegant twist LA didn’t see coming, it’s going to take a former reality star to save us.

To everyone fuming at @haleyforMI endorsing @mikerogersforMI: Hurt people hurt people.
I used to respect this guy because of the integrity he showed in putting country over party. Now Stevens does the same, but to him it’s batshit because she has the integrity to push back against antisemitism.
Got it.
I honestly think @HaleyStevens needs to check herself into the Lindner Center of Hope in Mason, Ohio.

Nithya Ramen never gave a damn about Palisades until it was a campaign stop. She's never once asked how recovery is going, what's needed, or how she could help. She nearly trainwrecked our disaster exemption with her failed ULA effort. Don't fall for any of it.
Nithya Ramen didn’t show up to the Palisades until a campaign stop in May 2026. She has no plan other than appointing a “Czar” - who I imagine will be the worst person possible. She will make the burned out town into her vision of “equity.” How sad is it that I trust this woman less. No more commies.

This woman is completely unqualified for any elected office.
To describe lawful arrests as “kidnapping” is offensive, sure, but it also shows that Nithya is a child who has zero curiosity about how anything actually works. She is a Tik Tok candidate.
Non-citizens charged with removability appear before an Immigration Judge. That judge determines whether the non-citizen is removable from the U.S. If the judge makes this finding, the non-citizen has the opportunity to apply for relief from removal. There are several forms of this, including but not limited to asylum, withholding of removal, protection under the regulations implementing the Convention Against Torture, adjustment of status, cancellation of removal, among other forms of relief. Lawful permanent residents who are charged with removability based on criminal conduct can apply for certain waivers.
If the immigration judge has found the non-citizen to be removable, then he or she hears these these above-mentioned applications for relief. The non-citizen is entitled to counsel during these hearings. If the immigration judge decides to grant the non-citizen’s application for relief from removal, the non-citizen is not removed from the U.S., unless the government appeals and wins.
If the judge doesn’t find the non-citizen removable in the first place, they are not removed, unless the government appeals and wins.
If the immigration judge finds the non-citizen removable, and doesn’t grant any form of relief from removal, the non-citizen can appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals. If the Board rules in the non-citizen’s favor, he or she cannot be removed - because a removal order is required to remove people from the U.S. (There are exceptions in which the removal order does not come from the judge, but they are limited).
If the Board doesn’t rule in the non-citizen’s favor, the non-citizen can appeal to federal court, unless it has been stripped of jurisdiction over certain issue by the statute. But even then, the courthouse door is open; as the Ninth Circuit said, “we have jurisdiction to determine jurisdiction.” (Not verbatim, don’t @ me).
Obviously, actual kidnapping victims don’t have three layers of due process - the analogy is just so stupid I can’t believe I have to write something that stupid.
But what’s even more stupid is that all of the above is laid out plainly in the Immigration and Nationality Act, which for better or worse, Congress hasn’t meaningfully amended since 1996.
Nothing is stopping Nithya or her advisors from cracking open that statute and learning something, other than her childish belief that if she just does what the cool kids are doing (hating on ICE) that’s somehow qualifies her to be mayor.
It qualifies her to be an Instagram influencer but not a mayor. I personally like my mayors to have a grip on how federal law actually works.
Either Nithya doesn’t actually know how it works or she does and she’s pretending not to. Both are disqualifying.
To be clear, criticism of immigration policy is fine, but that’s not what’s happening here.
I am outraged by reports of violent ICE kidnappings in North Hollywood. LA is not a playground for the Trump regime’s inhumane operations, and Angelenos should not have to live in fear of going to work, taking their kids to school, or living their life.

ICE has a public affairs office and its contact info is on its website ICE dot gov. And yet.
A deported immigrant who was profiled in a CalMatters story earlier this week misled the news organization about his criminal record and deportation history. CalMatters learned of the deception through a U.S. ICE social media post. cal.news/4BAPEN3

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

We call on France to exercise restraint when dispersing the freedom fighters on the streets of Paris. These brave warriors for justice must receive immediate humanitarian aid, and their safety must be guaranteed in accordance with international law. Failure to comply will leave us no choice but to bring a case before the ICJ, in close cooperation with that renowned champion of human rights, Afghanistan.
Oh look an elected official calling media he doesn’t like fake news where have I heard that before
Raise your hand if you’re a Jewish person in LA who can’t believe the chutzpah of Nithya explaining she went on Hasan Piker’s podcast because “that’s where the votes are”
So incredibly disingenuous. Just one of the many self-aggrandizing self-appointed quasi-intellectuals trying to pretzel explain why he did something shitty.
The reason he did something shitty is to impress the other guys on this site who have also been stuffed into a locker one too many times.
Own it and apologize.
After identifying Jane Doe earlier tonight, I have now removed the information I published. Why? Because the principle has been served: to underscore that permanently anonymizing litigants who make sensational, spectacular, reputation-destroying claims about others -- so long as they can self-declare some form of victimization -- cannot be countenanced.
It's destructive, and an egregious abuse of the legal system by huckster plaintiff's lawyers. This practice has to end. Lawyers who seek to monetize this sleazy tactic should have to think A LOT HARDER about the claims they're willing to throw out into the public domain, using impressionable clients who may not even know what they're getting themselves into.
So why have I now removed her information?
Because I don't believe she's the main "villain" here. I primarily blame the bottom-feeding, media-manipulating, sleazebag lawyers who've made a whole cash-grab industry out of this racket.
Thomas Giuffra in particular has a lot to answer for. He's the central reason for the current debacle.
Given the intense nationwide and global interest in this case, I don't want to bring any further negative attention to this woman. I don't believe she ought to be punished or subjected to any retribution or humiliation. I believe a RATIONAL solution is necessary here. Not more character assassination -- of her, the seven young men, or anyone else. Truly, that is my genuine view.
I also recognize there are unique factors that must be taken into account given the hugely outsized publicity of this case.
So that's why I have removed the information. The aforementioned principle has been served: eroding the premise that anyone who claims any form of victimization is entitled to permanent anonymity, even as their lawyer(s) use the courts -- aided by a compliant media -- to name & shame others for the most heinous of crimes. No matter how lacking in credibility their own claims might be, or contradicted by mountains of other evidence.
That's all I ever sought to accomplish here. Not to impugn this young woman on a personal level. I have no animus toward her, and never have. I sincerely wish her the best, and hope her life is not defined by this calamity.
I completely stand by the accuracy of what I reported as to Jane Doe's identity. This is not a retraction -- it's an independent discretionary judgment I alone have made. No lawyers or anyone else have influenced this decision.

This stupid communist has been in city hall for 6 YEARS. She was in charge of the Homelessness and Housing Committee for years. She keeps acting like some novel outsider who's gonna shake up government. Lady...you ARE government. You ARE the problem.
Section 241(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act governs third-country removals when a non-citizen has claimed he will be persecuted in his home country. It’s been on the books since 1952.
But a candidate for mayor is “appalled” that the Supreme Court read the plain language of a statute passed by Congress.
You guys, this is bad. (I mean, her rabid antisemitism is also bad, but deliberately skewing what SCOTUS did is a close second).
I am appalled that the Supreme Court has cleared the way to deport people to countries where they have no ties, with no notice, and no chance to argue against the decision.
One in four deportations last year happened in LA, ripping apart families who just want to make a living and send their kids to school. Angelenos deserve due process, no matter what their status is.
