Public safety border security and immigration enforcement are deeply connected in the national debate ICE’s official mission includes enforcing federal immigration laws and protecting communities. Whatever conclusion people reach the conversation should start with the facts.
According to federal officials hundreds of thousands of ACA enrollments were flagged over concerns including suspected fraud and unverified eligibility That raises some serious questions about how the system was being monitored.
As a woman this really isn't complicated to me. We can have nuanced conversations about pregnancy without pretending basic biology doesn't exist.

The House already passed the Sunshine Protection Act. Now it’s sitting in the Senate Commerce Committee, and as of today it still hasn’t become law. (Senate Commerce Committee)
So unless that changes, we’re still falling back an hour this November.

Canada resident breaks down in tears because he life may be over, “I'm about to be a victim of the Canadian healthcare system”
She has cancer. She did everything she was asked to including Chemo, additional tests and seeing the multiple specialists required for surgery. Unfortunately because the way healthcare works in Canada, the process took so long that her tumor has now spread and she’s no longer a candidate for surgery
“ These past five weeks of having to go through the system, waiting for appointments, waiting for diagnostic imaging, waiting for results and reports, my tumor has spread way too far — They let me sit there for two months with no treatment — this is the system that we live in”
What’s crazy is I found this is not uncommon in Canada, and can actually even take much longer than this
On the faster end for high priority major cancer it takes 6–12 weeks from the “we think we can operate” meeting to the OR, plus 4–8 weeks of extra tests beforehand

Slower provinces can take 6–12 months or more. Quebec’s public lists show thousands waiting for obstetric, gynecologic surgery. The lists show hundreds of people already past 6–12 months mark in waiting
We do not want universal healthcare like this in America

Charlie once said we should be building two statues for every statue that they tear down. His instinct was always to build, not to destroy.
They thought a bullet would silence my husband’s voice but it only made it louder. They think spray paint can obscure his legacy, but it will only spread it further. Every attempt to tear down what Charlie built makes us root deeper and work even harder.
And if you think crossing out the name of Jesus Christ will silence Christians, history has already proved you wrong. We know what it costs to stand firm for Christ and we will stand anyway. God will not be mocked.
We’ll put His name right back where it belongs, clean up the mess, restore Charlie's statue, and keep building.
We will never give up and never surrender.
We will restore the statue and replace the signs, but we are also reviewing the footage of the incident and are working with law enforcement to identify who did this and hold them accountable.
But vandalism like this is not funny, it’s diabolical. The incident happened in the middle of the night because evil never sleeps. Beyond spray painting on the neck and face, they made the intentional decision to cross out the name of Jesus on a nearby sign.

In 2001, American firefighter Gary Box vanished without a trace during the 9/11 attacks; his remains have never been found.
His parents spent nine long years searching for any sign of him. Finally, in 2009, his mother discovered a photograph at once heartbreaking and a source of relief in the National 9/11 Museum’s photo archives and on the memorial's official website; the firefighter captured in the image was indeed him.
The photo was taken on September 11, 2001, by Danish businessman Erik Thorsen. While stuck in traffic at the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, he looked through his windshield and captured the image of Gary rushing toward the Twin Towers. He later uploaded the photo to the National 9/11 Museum’s online archive, making this long delayed "reunion" possible. #USA911 #USFirefighter

🚨 WOW! A fifteen-year-old was blinded by smoke and still went back into a burning senior care home for strangers.
In Glendale on Friday, Alex Bazinyan, 20, and his brother Narek, 15, saw flames pouring from a home near Brand Park. A nurse was outside screaming for help. Narek grabbed a hose first. When that failed, both brothers charged inside and found elderly residents on the floor, some of them injured.
WHAT A FREAKING LEGEND.
They carried the seniors out one by one, and neighbors jumped in to help. All six made it to the front lawn before fire crews arrived. Alex said he heard an explosion right after he pulled the last person out. Fire officials say an oxygen tank likely blew and collapsed part of the building. Seven people had minor injuries, and the home is now red-tagged.
While half the country argues online and Hollywood jokes about martyrs, two young men from a tightknit neighborhood did what Americans do when someone is trapped. They ran toward the fire. That is the country, right here. Honor them.
