This isn’t ideological for us - it is about acting in our National Interest.
Approve Jackdaw and Rosebank, lift the ban on new licenses, lift the ban on exports and end the Windfall Tax.
Pragmatic, common sense. Securing jobs, our energy future and boosting our economy.
We Get It. 🇬🇧

6am: Healey tells BBC he will bring down benefits bill before election
8:20: Treasury dispute the story
1pm: No10 disown it saying they have never set a target
2pm: PM says cuts as soon as possible
4pm: Healey says Labour won't bring bill down this Parliament
We’ve asked the question…we still don’t have an answer.
How can the OBRs projected revenue figures include ‘Rosebank and future discoveries’ when we are told there has been no decision and there’s a ban on new licenses?
It doesn’t add up.

“I don’t care if he’s the Chair of the Defence Select Committee”
A churlish and ill-tempered outing from Wes Streeting at the Despatch Box as he undermines Tan Dhesi and the Labour-chaired Defence Select Committee that holds the Defence Secretary to account.
This is entirely the wrong tone to adopt.
An excellent question by the brilliant Lord Moynihan to the Government asking why Rosebank can be included in projected revenue figures if the Government is “minded not to approve” as the Energy Secretary indicated last week…
Yesterday, the OBR included the production from the development of the Rosebank oilfield in its oil and gas tax revenue projections published alongside the budget. This is despite the Energy Secretary reportedly leaning towards rejecting the field's exploration.
This morning, Lord Moynihan questioned why the Rosebank oilfield has been included in projections, and whether the Government will now back Scottish workers and industry, and approve the field's development.

Big row potentially brewing on defence…
Tories alleging that Healey - the man of principle who quit over DIP - might actually be *cutting* defence spending
In the next two financial years, the budget for the MOD will be £1bn a year less than Rachel Reeves planned when the DIP was published in June.
The total departmental spending can be calculated from the Budget Red Book pages 145-147. When compared to the DIP settlement, the Tories claim it shows that Labour are cutting £1bn a year from the MOD budget for the next two years.
Why? It appears that they are forecast to spend less than expected on pensions. Rather than the MOD being allowed to reuse this Resource Department Expenditure Limit, the Treasury has kept it
Cartlidge: “This is a complete dereliction of duty from the Chancellor”
Just off the phone with @SSENComms regarding the ongoing work to reconnect those who lost power over the weekend.
Massive thank you to the engineers working through the day and night to ensure people are reconnected as soon as possible - with 99% of people now back since Sunday.
However, around 40 people in West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine remain without power as we head towards this Wednesday evening. SSE hope to have most connected tonight and all by tomorrow.
However, if you remain without power, or know and are worried about someone without power, please contact SSE on 105 and they will endeavour to ensure you and/or they are supported.

No wonder Angela Rayner is stocking up on Sauvignon Blanc.
If Russia attacks while this lot are in charge, we’ll all need a drink.
This is…very confusing.
The Prime Minister insists that no decision on Rosebank has been taken…
But, the Office for Budget Responsibility have based their forecasts on, “estimates of the production from currently producing fields and the NSTAs estimate of production from development of new fields, which include ROSEBANK and from FUTURE DISCOVERIES.”
So, is it approved or not? Serious questions to answer from the Energy Secretary!

NEW
On the basis of the numbers the Chancellor just read out in the House, the UK is set to borrow MORE in each of the next five years than previously planned
🤔 The removal of standing charges on gas bills…sounds good doesn’t it?
💁♂️ On the face of it, yes, in general bills might be lower - but here’s the catch…
🤨 If you are a ‘higher consumer’ (meaning someone that uses gas for heating, cooking, hot water etc) then your energy bill is about to go UP. That’s cause they are putting the fixed daily cost on to the Unit Rate.
🥶Next week in large parts of the UK, the temperature is going to get close to freezing. Because of these changes, if you live there and heat your home with gas and want to turn on the central heating…Labour just made your life much more difficult and far more expensive.

So there we have it. Probably the highest day ever in the BM at over £52 million
The final number tends to be a bit higher than the trading figure reported by LCP
This is what Connect & Manage has done... We spent £52 million because we had to throw away wind in Scotland that we built despite knowing we can't use it
Plus NESO not curtailing it before the DA auction meaning instead of gas plant self dispatching it has to be bid on in the BM
