Наглухо отбитые твари. Россияне ударили FPV-дронм по обычному пассажирскому автобусу в Запорожье. Если это не терроризм, что тогда терроризм?

The Muslim Tatar community in Lithuania has existed for more than 600 years. Muslim Tatar families settled in the Vilnius and Trakai regions during the reign of Grand Duke Vytautas. They were granted land, served in the light cavalry, and fought alongside Lithuanian forces. 1/2

🇵🇱🇺🇦 Polish PM Tusk: In May 1939, a certain French politician, a future Nazi collaborator, asked in the French press: "Why die for Gdańsk?" A few months later, all of Europe was dying. To those who today say that this is not our war, I remind them of this lesson of history.

The flags of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania were first raised at the UN 35 year ago today. It was almost exactly 70 years earlier, in September 1921, that all three joined the League of Nations, supporting the first ill-fated attempt to build a rules-based world of sovereign nations ..before the Nazi-Soviet Pact delivered its fatal blow. As a lasting consequence of that pact, the occupied Baltic countries were the only members of the League of Nations not subsequently able to join the United Nations. 35 years ago, delegates of all three Baltic countries could finally take their seats where they belong and get back to helping build that world for others too. The problem with the League of Nations back then and the United Nations today is only that it’s not rules-based enough and not at the service of sovereign nations enough. The hill we are prepared to die on: A rules-based world of sovereign nations is far, far better than an age of empires, and not just for small nations. One leads to widespread peace and prosperity, the other to widespread death and destruction. We do not need to keep repeating this experiment.

No! Do NOT try on the hijab! Do NOT get your children to try on the hijab! Cosplaying our oppression isn’t a cute, family fun activity on a day out. Stop normalizing our trauma and our dehumanization and our pain. Fun music doesn’t erase the nausea I feel while watching this.

On September 17, 1939, the Soviets attacked Poland, joining Nazi Germany in the invasion. For 2 years, the Gestapo & NKVD cooperated in suppressing the resistance, torturing and murdering freedom fighters. Moscow also grabbed territories from Finland and the Baltic states.

I can't get this photo out my mind. Centuries of incremental adaptation and contextual or applied theology has given us sex equality in the Church of England, such that the highest office is now held by a woman. The visual contrast—a Christian woman in authority standing next to a fully-veiled Muslim woman in submission—is stark. What ‘harmony’ can there be with an Islamic tradition which treats a woman’s face as something to be hidden, and women as innately subordinate, being ‘deficient in intellect and religion’?

Rivers may be delivering far more #microplastic pollution to the oceans than previously realized, with developing countries accounting for nearly all of the global flow, according to a new Science study. The worldwide analysis also finds that heavy rainfall can unleash surges of microplastics into rivers—a climate-sensitive pollution threat that could intensify as extreme weather becomes more common.
