I have immense respect for Mark Cuban but am baffled by the notion that free speech doesn’t refer to allowing/respecting all viewpoints, but rather “promoting” them.

Crazy that a United States Senator can openly violate civil rights law on Twitter
I’m hiring motivated and eager interns for the Spring 2027 semester in my Boston office. BIPOC, LGBTQ+, working class, veterans, and other underrepresented candidates with Massachusetts ties are encouraged to apply. Applications are due Monday, November 9th.

He’s in luck: The ratio of total millionaires to billionaires in America is roughly 23,600 to 1.
I'd rather have an economy that makes 1,000 millionaires than 1 billionaire.

This is one of my favorite bits, where they just straight up tell you they want to pay unlivable wages to brown people to pick their crops or clean their toilets but somehow you’re the racist for wanting to stop it
Hey maga some of those great jobs that immigrants stole from you are available. Don’t miss out.

The thing that never happens happened again
A Massachusetts family says the state took custody of their teenage daughter after they refused to affirm her as a boy, citing their Catholic faith. The parents allege a school counselor socially transitioned their daughter without their knowledge, then reported them to the Department of Children and Families. Now the state has guardianship, and a restraining order prevents the teen's parents and older brother from contacting her. A judge has temporarily blocked the state from administering high-dose testosterone as the family fights the case. The next court hearing is set for Oct. 29. | @LaurenGreenFox @AmericaNewsroom

COVID is such a funny topic for anyone who has a memory longer than 6 years. The right at the beginning was concerned about this disease and called for locking down travel from infected countries. The left called this racist, Nancy Pelosi went to China town and told people to hug a Chinese person. Trump spearheaded the vax development the left claimed they would never take the Trump shot. Then the same people who called shutting down flights to China racist started saying your kids can’t go to school anymore. The ones that said they’d never take the Trump shot we’re going to fire you if you didn’t take it. It’s ok to admit pretty much everyone lost their heads during the pandemic. It’s pretty dumb to pretend that never happened.

So now fishing is bad just because Brown people are the ones doing it to survive? You bad faith conservatives make me sick.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video from Ceuta shows a group pulling a disoriented baby dolphin from shallow water, striking it and causing its death before carrying the body away. Dolphins are a protected species in Spain. Intentionally harming them is animal cruelty under the law and is not fishing. spainupdates.com/2026/09/migran… gaceta.es/espana/un-inmi…

Once you take "gender affirming" drugs and have "gender affirming" surgeries, there is no going back. It is PERMANENT. Could you imagine being stuck with a decision you made as a child for the rest of your life? What if that decision left you with missing body parts and sterilized? No child has the mental capacity to make these choices and any adult advocating for them to do so is a monster, point blank.

I replied to Derek but I thought this is worth bringing to the front: There isn't a good right-wing equivalent to Woke 1.0 because Woke 1.0 was a massive and insanely powerful cultural force that was the most disruptive, censorious, and vindictive movement since McCarthyism Here are some things that happened during Woke 1.0: - The MLB ripped an All-Star game away from Atlanta over politics - Mass censorship across every social media network, including censorship of academics and gov't officials - the unpublishing of massively popular children's books and the industry-wide crackdown on even allowing third parties to sell used copies of those books - Racially motivated lockout from publishing and academia that remains to this day - If we're counting post-Floyd events, a 40% increase in the murder rate (it was so craaaazy) - mass firings over vaccines (even among pregnant women and remote workers) There is nothing even remotely equivalent like that on the right. People are saying "2020 election truthers" but that isn't something that made any difference to the lives of normal people.
what would be the republican equivalent of democrats deciding that woke 1.0 was crazy? i think it ~might~ be something like: a party-wide acknowledgement that their party leader, now polling at record lows, really did lose the 2020 election and doesn't deserve kingly featly while he rakes in billions in crypto schemes as inflation rises and iran squeezes the strait of hormuz. so while i think conservatives are right to be miffed about lefties saying "ha ha whoopsies" about the worst SJW nonsense of the early 2020s, the bigger story, i think, isn't democrats letting go of woke 1, but rather the republicans' amazing inability to let go of the million-pound anchor dragging down the party

In 2020 a mob toppled the Ulysses S. Grant bust in Golden Gate Park. In 2026, SF still can't summon the courage to put it back up. He defeated the Confederacy, crushed the Klan, and enforced Reconstruction, and his bust sits in storage.

These young women are heroines. They're peacefully protesting against the grotesque unfairness of men playing in women's sport. The only people who are "f*cking insane" here are those making a mockery of fair sport for women and trying to bully girls like this into silence.
Last night, @seattlestorm co-owner Celeste Keaton cursed out two teen girls for wearing @xx_xyathletics shirts, calling them "f*cking insane." One of them was left in tears. I tried to get security involved and was told I should email the front office.

Investment is not an achievement. Returns are.
Student funding in California is now a RECORD HIGH! Since Governor Newsom took office, it’s increased 66%— reaching $28,282 per student as the state makes historic investments in public education.

I am finding the entire discussion surrounding the SPLC revelations to be insane. We can argue the specific charges, but how can anyone defend what they were doing? The defense some people have settled on here is that they were paying informants, like law enforcement sometimes does. Except they aren't law enforcement? There is no special exemption for funding criminal activities from hate groups just because you claim to also be fighting them. Also, the amounts they were paying far exceeded what anyone would need just to gather information. Millions of dollars in funding for the very people they were pretending to fight. The truth is, they were treating this like a business. It worked as a business model. They spent a few million to help fund hateful extremists and then raised tens of millions based on highlighting the growth of the very threats they helped fund. Meanwhile, they would also often conflate political opponents with those extremists, thereby also providing cover for hate groups. The country would be much better off if the SPLC were put out of business.

If we are taking Bethany at her word, she's telling us that Hill reporters are *not allowed* to talk about scandals or stories that they are not specifically assigned to She's telling us that her entire industry is about narrative building, not truth seeking

I did not play it down. I very much wanted to report it out myself. But MeToo stories on the Hill aren't related to my beat, as much as I personally wish I could report them out. I passed the tip along to colleagues on the Hill beat.
