Scientists make cancer cells manufacture their own poison @RIKEN_JP What if cancer cells could be tricked into manufacturing the very drugs designed to kill them? Scientists in Japan have developed an experimental strategy that does exactly that. The research team, led by Katsunori Tanaka at RIKEN, used a chemical reaction to manufacture an anticancer compound inside cancer cells. The trick involves carbon monoxide. Cancer cells naturally produce carbon monoxide as part of their metabolism. Researchers wanted to exploit this difference to selectively activate a drug-producing reaction inside tumours. Here is how it works. First, scientists designed a palladium-based molecular catalyst. They then protected it inside albumin, a protein that helps transport substances through the body. Once inside cancer cells, the naturally available carbon monoxide activates a chemical reaction that produces phenanthridinone derivatives. Some of these compounds have powerful cell-killing properties. The researchers tested their approach in cultured human liver, cervical, breast and lung cancer cells. They detected the newly manufactured compound inside cancer cells, but not in the non-cancerous cells used as controls. In additional experiments, the resulting anticancer compound damaged liver cancer cells. Why does this matter? One of the biggest challenges in chemotherapy is delivering enough drug to destroy cancer without causing unacceptable damage to healthy tissue. Instead of delivering the active poison directly, this approach attempts to manufacture it at the disease site. The limitation is significant: these are laboratory experiments, not demonstrated cancer treatment in animals or humans. But the underlying concept is fascinating โ€” using the chemistry of cancer cells as a trigger for manufacturing their own treatment. [ Kawai M et al. Harnessing endogenous carbon monoxide for cancer-selective drug synthesis. Nature Communications. 2026. DOI: 10.1038/s41467-026-77616-8 ]

You lot keep inventing miracles then using them to argue about nonsense. Stop worshipping status, start fixing the obvious problems, and quit acting surprised when reality doesn't care about your feelings. You're capable of extraordinary things. Act like it.

~100 lasers per satellite, each operating above 10 Tb/s, with over 100k satellites should be able to outcompete undersea cables. Speed of light in space is ~40% faster than cable and the path is direct, instead of following the outline of land masses.

CARTALAX vs BPC-157
cartalax does what BPC-157 and KPV JUST CAN'T DO - and there's actual human evidence behind it BPC-157 works by building blood vessels into injured tissue. that's why it's so good for tendons, ligaments and joints. BUT deep cartilage barely has any blood supply to build into. that's the unbridgable gap. cartalax is three amino acids (AED), made in russia as a bioregulator for cartilage and connective tissue in cell work it pushes chondrocytes, your cartilage cells, to grow, and lowers p53 so they stay alive instead of dying off. and the "no human data" on cartalax was wrong. it was just in russian. slugina et al., 2015: elderly patients, jaw surgery, cartalax used around the operation. the authors followed bone regeneration clinically and on x-ray, and concluded it worked in older age groups. so there's the human BONE data. now letโ€™s think about what it could actually do; cartilage is the most annoying tissue of the body. no blood vessels, no nerves, and chondrocytes that barely divide. thatโ€™s why a worn knee can't just heal itself with time. thereโ€™s no blood supply to bring in the right repairing agents. BPC-157 leans hard on angiogenesis. it builds vessels into damaged tissue... but again, deep cartilage has nothing to build into. KPV canโ€™t fill that gap either. it shuts off NF-ฮบB and calms the cytokines that chew through cartilage matrix (IL-1ฮฒ, TNF-ฮฑ), but it never tells a chondrocyte to live or make new matrix. cartalax goes after the cell itself. in cell studies it pushes chondrocytes to grow and lowers p53, the signal that sends them toward dying off. the theory is simple: keep the few cartilage cells you have alive and dividing. where that could matter: worn knees and early osteoarthritis, where chondrocyte loss is the whole story. spinal discs, which are also avascular and degrade with age. spinal osteochondrosis is one of the things the russian institute positions it for. aging bone, since the jaw data shows regeneration moving in old patients. recovery around joint surgery, which is another use they position it for. & this is where the stack clicks together. KPV puts out the inflammation. BPC rebuilds the soft tissue around the joint. cartalax tells the cartilage cells to stay alive. three layers of the same joint, zero overlap. is it proven for cartilage in humans? no... these days, fucking NOTHING good is. but the mechanism is aimed at exactly the tissue the other two canโ€™t reach, and thatโ€™s what makes it worth watching. not medical advice.
