the PR line is “first GIP/GLP-1 proven to cut heart attack, stroke, or CV death.” true. there is one dual agonist.
the trial behind it is a different sentence.
not vs placebo. tirzepatide up to 15mg vs dulaglutide 1.5mg a GLP-1 that already had a MACE claim. non-inferiority. superiority only if the entire confidence interval sat under 1.00.
it came in at 0.92 (0.83–1.01).
12.2% vs 13.1%. 13,299 people. ~4.5 years.
they gave tirz every milligram. trulicity stayed at the dose that already worked. still missed “better” by 0.01 on the interval.
so: real label. matched a drug that already reduces events. not proven better. the 8% in the headlines is relative. absolute is 0.9 points.
and it’s Mounjaro. type 2 diabetes. high CV risk. Zepbound did not get this sticker. obesity-without-diabetes is still SELECT, and that’s semaglutide.

Alright so last night as I was taking an injection, I took the wrong peptide and I tripled the dose that I was supposed to take of a different peptide.
What this resulted in was asphyxiation, throat tightening, tongue enlarging, and lips enlarging.
In 15 minutes I was unable to breathe so we had to call paramedics for an Epi.

I’m all for grey-market peptides, but Phil makes some great points in this episode.
There are research-only companies putting out great products…but the biggest issue is you never truly know if that 10mg vial actually contains 10mg.
A COA can tell you a sample tested well. It doesn’t necessarily guarantee your vial is properly dosed, sterile, or even from the same batch.
