The big lesson of the Biden years is that you have to prosecute these people. You can’t just move on. You need to make the next generation of grifters and hate mongers scared for their lives.

Google is using its search monopoly to coerce schools into adopting AI. This highlights the danger of allowing an unregulated monopolist to control an essential service. Multiple courts have found Google liable for violating antitrust laws, and this latest move shows it remains unchastened. As the public increasingly pushes back against the use of AI in schools, Google is making clear it will punish those who don’t fall in line.

We’ve graduated to “companies are people” to “company products are people.” As for actual people’s rights? Anthropic’s partnerships with Palantir+ building of surveillance infra tells you what they REALLY think about that while seeding mass hysteria about their fictional gods.
NEW: Dario Amodei has said that AI systems "may be deserving of important rights." Anthropic's top safety researchers argue AI may be "justified in going rogue." Experts at Google and OpenAI worry about a digital "slave trade." So do some government officials. Once relegated to science fiction, the idea of "AI welfare" has become shockingly mainstream at some of the most powerful companies in the world. It is changing the way AI research is conducted and the way models are programmed. And critics say these changes have raised the odds of all kinds of catastrophic scenarios—including the ones these companies are warning about. I spent months investigating the frontier labs and AI "safety" experts seeking to regulate AI. What I found was a profoundly anti-human ideology that would alarm the average citizen and could determine the future of a world-altering technology.🧵 freebeacon.com/america/suici…

Like I said, here we have a company creating viruses and malware but gets to market it’s products as machine gods and redirect the narrative away from accountability and being held criminally liable to making themselves sound like concerned citizens, with everyone parroting their CEOs 🙄
This is mind blowing. OpenAI hacked private Australian Medicare files… and didn’t say a word about it to the government. Article in replies.

Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
Replying to @hilbertspaess
The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

If you’re grabbed by someone wearing “shock gloves”…your body may convulse involuntarily. It could look like you’re resisting arrest when in reality, you’re in medical distress. The appearance of resistance gives ICE grounds to use lethal force. These gloves will kill people.
This isn't going to become some anomalous method of arresting people. They will be shocking people like this as a matter of course.

AI is now answering 911 calls in New Orleans. The AI handles incoming calls and is supposed to analyze and prioritize the calls so that if multiple people phone in about the same incident, the chatbot will handle the repetitive calls about the same incident. Critics warn that the automatic speech recognition systems may cause problems, the AI may hold hidden biases, and that human 911 responders are needed. shreveporttimes.com/story/ne…
