Did you know Zoo Miami is a Miami-Dade County Park?
Before becoming the wildlife destination we know and love today, it all began with Crandon Park Zoo on Key Biscayne in 1948!

The Dolphins have carried on Jason's legacy in a way that has helped tens of thousands. Just as Jason would have wanted it. It's beautiful to see the breadth of what has been accomplished with both this mission and the team's annual Cancer Challenge.
Today, late, great Dolphins executive Jason Jenkins would've turned 52.
He believed in bringing people together through community service. The Dolphins, since launching a monthlong initiative honoring him every October since 2023, have united more than 2,300 volunteers to positively impact upward of 181,000 people.
In 2026 alone, more than 650 volunteers took part in 12 community service projects, reaching nearly 65,000 people across South Florida and communities affected by natural disasters, including the earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia.
“Jason’s legacy is in every person who dedicated their time to a service project this month,” said Elizabeth Jenkins, widow of Jason Jenkins and executive board chair of Dolphins Cancer Challenge. “It has been incredible to see the outpouring of support from the Dolphins family and members of our community this past month in his honor. Jason's dream was truly about giving back to the South Florida community, and I love that we have done this every year since his passing.”

LABOR FORCE RECORD: Miami-Dade County had its largest labor force ever in September and neared a record total employment and a record low unemployment rate. The county’s 1.9% September unemployment neared the all-time low 1.8% recorded in November 2023 and its total of employed workers, 1,425,094, was just 666 persons below the November 2023 record level as well, according to figures that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released last week. The county’s total labor force of 1,452,691 is 338 more people than the prior high, also in November 2023. The figures are listed as preliminary and subject to adjustment.
