Few athletics events can boast a heritage as rich as the New Year Sprint in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The race, which dates back to 1870, is steeped in history 🗓️ When it takes place at Musselburgh in a few months' time it will be part of ITV's live new year horse racing coverage 📺 Entries are now open for the New Year Sprint on January 1, 2027 – with the first prize being £8000 and heat winners taking home £100 each 🏃 #ad 📸 @Bobby_ThatOneMo Sign-up here: sientries.co.uk/event/158th-…

This must be the athletics equivalent of being stuck behind one of those massive pillars at Hillsborough or Selhurst Park

Glasgow memories, with many other years included. Humbled to be there for Andy Butchart’s last track race, and equally gutted to have him tell me the news! Not emotional though, there was just a lot of stoor flying around… @scotathletics @Team_Scotland

Dammit, another childhood hero gone. Even watching on a 625 line monochrome tv his brilliance shone through. #Ripgarysobers
