Modern media has built a fucking memory hole for failed predictions, because the entire doom racket collapses the second people start checking the receipts.
Geoffrey Hinton warned that AI would finish off radiology as a profession. A decade later, there are more radiologists working in America.
Dario Amodei predicted AI-driven unemployment could hit 20%.
Leopold Aschenbrenner envisioned 30% GDP growth from AI. Demis Hassabis described change so enormous it implied roughly 50% annual growth.
Reality kept stubbornly refusing to cooperate.
And what happens when these gigantic predictions faceplant?
Fucking nothing.
No weeklong media autopsy. No screaming chyron asking how the experts got it so spectacularly wrong. No parade of anchors demanding accountability. The prophecy simply disappears down the memory hole while the same goddamn machine starts manufacturing the next emergency.
We watched this shit during Covid: contradictory guidance, catastrophic projections, constant fear, endless declarations delivered with the authority of commandments.
Now AI gets the same treatment.
Mass unemployment. Entire professions erased. Runaway machines. Human extinction.
And after laying out evidence that forecasters become wildly overconfident once they leave rule-bound systems and start predicting messy human society, the doom machine still manages to cough up one final fucking masterpiece:
An average 18% chance of near-term human extinction.
Jesus Christ.
They can document failed predictions, explain why sweeping forecasts keep missing, and still shove another apocalypse onto the front page before the ink dries.
That tells you everything.
This system survives because yesterday’s bullshit gets buried before tomorrow’s terror campaign begins. The experts keep their prestige. The media keeps its megaphone. Nobody settles the tab.
Start keeping the fucking receipts.
Who predicted it? When? What actually happened?
Because a panic industry built on public amnesia is completely fucked once the public starts remembering.

I appreciate that you had the honesty to engage in a forthright manner so you deserve a straightforward response.
Loyalty to a particular politician is different and loyalty to a particular party. Where, you support the politician regardless, you have no contrary obligation. You are not employed agreeing to support someone else it’s your candidate loses.
With a party it’s different. If you participate in a primary, you are acting as part of the party. The implied obligation is that you will support the winner if you lose; the other side will support your candidate if they lose.
Accordingly, they are different things.
I think politicians owe an obligation to the voters, not vice versa. You should support a particular politician as long as he supports what you support.
The dynamic for a party is different. When you participate in party politics, you are agreeing to be part of a team. That means when you lose in a primary, you grit your teeth and support the guy who won with the understanding that if your candidate won, your opponents would do the same.
Again, I appreciate your honest request for clarification and I hope I provided it.

You can debate race, privilege and politics all day. I’m dealing with actual children standing in front of me who need guidance, structure, skills and people who care about them.
When they walk through my doors, they’re MY boys.
They’re going to learn. They’re going to be challenged. They’re going to be corrected. And they’re going to be loved.
I’ve had to grow and challenge some of my own prejudices over the years too.

The thumbprint that put him away should never have held up. Investigators handed the fingerprint examiner Pearson’s name as their suspect before he ran the match — a direct violation of blind-analysis standards — and the original AFIS database search of that same print had already come back with 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥.
Two years before anyone acted on it, Pearson’s own co-defendant confessed to the 2010 assault and robbery of Clarendon County businessman Edward Gibbons, clearing Pearson by name in sworn statements filed in 2023. Prosecutors sat on it anyway. Pearson’s convictions weren’t vacated until August 2025 — and the charges against him weren’t formally dismissed until the following month.
According to Pearson’s new lawsuit, when the Third Circuit Solicitor’s Office finally moved to let him go, it came with a price tag. Solicitor Ernest “Chip” Finney III allegedly demanded Pearson 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 as the cost of his own freedom. Pearson refused to sign.

No one has a problem with the questions. It's the refusal to accept answers and corrections (on misunderstandings leading to baseless suspicion and accusation).

No, this is not some kind of a gotcha. I'm asking because I think it will help clear up a communication gap.
The only thing I ask is no ad hominem. I seriously am seeking understanding.
This is how nuts the OBR process is.
They believe that more migration will lower the debt.
And they punish politicians when migration is "too low".
It's a constant upward pressure on migration.
The OBR must be abolished.

Dr. Idris Evans woke up to a man in his underwear attacking him and his wife with a kitchen knife. He fought for his family and still died. His wife is fighting for her life in critical condition, and their two kids, eight and twelve, had to run out of that house to a neighbor after their mother screamed for them to get out.
This is pure evil. A doctor who spent his career saving sick children was butchered in his own home, and investigators still do not even know if the suspect knew them. America has gotten soft on monsters, soft on crime, and soft on the idea that your bedroom should be the safest place on earth. Lock this animal up forever and pray for that family.
