If you’re a Republican, I don’t care.
If you’re a Democrat, I don’t care.
If you’re a Cowboys fan, FUCK YOU!
Presumably a voter.
We were in a long retail line and the guy at the register was a tall, hippy-looking dude in a beanie, beatifically happy, who had conversations with each customer.
When he got to us he saw our dog in his little carry bag, and asked, "Awww, how cute. What's his name?"
"Mozart," we replied.
He said, "Awww... Does he paint?"
I worry the Californians have set any kind of project like this back a generation or two.
I can't speak for WA, but OR can actually get things built when it wants to.
The recent history of OR/WA infra cooperation isn't great though.
Seattle Could Get a 250 MPH Bullet Train Connecting the City to Portland and Vancouver in Just One Hour!
Washington could be getting a major transportation upgrade! WSDOT is studying a proposed high-speed rail system connecting Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver, B.C., with trains potentially reaching speeds of 250 MPH and cutting travel times from over three hours to around one hour each way from Seattle. The project has received nearly $50 million in federal planning funding, with studies continuing through 2028. No construction date has been announced.
Would you take a bullet train from Seattle to Portland or Vancouver?

Dear @Apple,
I've never wanted to fold my phone.
I've never wanted to touch my screen.
I don't care about AR headsets.
I don't need more CPUs.
I don't need a better camera.
I do want good agentic ai.
That's pretty much the only thing I want.
Everything else is is great and has been great for years.
Which reminds me: I got garand thumb the other day from my espresso filter. That's about as hard as Oregon gets these days.
Hey @MultCoElections, "I Voted" stickers usually have a little American flair on them. Can we get a flag in the future? #usa #pdx

We were taught that Earth orbits the Sun in a closed circle. In reality, Earth has never returned to the same point in space once in 4.5 billion years.
Right now, the Sun is carrying Earth and every planet around the center of the Milky Way at 230 km/s (828,000 km/h), more than 18,000 kilometers every 80 seconds.
Because the Solar System is tilted 60.2° to the galactic plane and bobs up and down through the galactic disc roughly every 30 million years, the planets trace open 3D corkscrew helices across deep space rather than flat loops.
The last time the Sun stood where it stands today, one Galactic Year (230 million years) ago, the very first dinosaurs were only beginning to appear on Earth. Since forming 4.6 billion years ago, our Sun has completed only 20 laps.
