War in Iran almost certain to escalate. Trump’s answer to the endless investigations and impeachment articles, which have already been drafted, will to be to make himself a wartime President. Buckle up.

And this is why we need anti-trust laws, and why we need vigorous anti-trust enforcement.

At this point, maybe we ought to be supporting Russia.
⭕️ Ukrainian officials told the Kyiv Independent that Kyiv never agreed to the refinery pause the Wall Street Journal reported. Jared Kushner did ask for a 30-day halt, they said, but "nobody had given such an order." Kstovo is at least the fourth Russian refinery hit since Friday, when Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said Ukraine attacked three refineries and a gas-chemical plant. "We had a brief pause, but today, attacks on refineries have resumed," Novak said.

The Pentagon is treating a rash of freezer malfunctions that affected refrigeration and freezer units at commissaries at several U.S. military bases in August as a suspected cyberattack, according to four officials familiar with the matter who spoke to Reuters. The Pentagon said a Cyber Command unit is “working in close coordination with interagency and law enforcement partners” in the ongoing investigation. At least six on base commissaries were affected in late August, per Reuters’ review of base social media posts. In at least one case, the cooling units’ temperatures were raised overnight, resulting in spoiled food. Fort Huachuca, Arizona, posted that its freezer “went into defrost mode where it heated up all the food.” One official said investigators have been in touch with French counterparts about a similar attack that hit more than 350 French supermarkets earlier this month. From a War Department official: “Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper. Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information. Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.”
Exclusive: Pete Hegseth has fired another top general in the military—presaging more upheaval in the Pentagon’s upper echelons as Trump looks to break the stalemate of the war with Iran, @nancyayoussef reports: theatln.tc/FFJyeZxV

First time home alone was 2nd grade and sick. I cooked lunch, but sometimes they'd leave me cash in case I wanted to call in a pizza. At that age I had to check in with them after lunch. No problems. These days high school graduates don't know how to be sick. Have to call mommy.
Today’s society engenders a culture of extended adolescence well into adulthood. It cannot begin to fathom how responsible children can be if raised properly and given the opportunity to do so. Might be time for people to dust off Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Custodian plays sermons in the morning while she makes her rounds. She's very outspoken in her faith. Perfectly normal to eveyone; business as usual. We all love her. Public schools aren't all that bad.

ALERT: Several countries including Japan, UK, Switzerland, and Germany, have recently urged citizens to stockpile emergency supplies amid war, disasters and cyber attack fears.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Japan's announcement focuses on natural disaster prep for quakes ahead of new agency launch; Switzerland's advice is longstanding with no matching recent urging; UK's Be Ready campaign covers cyber/hostile threats among risks. ibtimes.co.uk/japan-househol… theguardian.com/politics/2026/… bwl.admin.ch/en/we-advise-e…

America is a euro-christian centric country. If immigrants want to stay, they should be expected to meld with our culture. Can't have it both ways. Everytime I go to the store it's clear I'm becoming the minority. Feel out of place in my own hometown.
There are no "superior races," across all fields But, my own top five, heavily focused on IQ, IQ x athleticism, and military acumen, would be: 1.) Parsis or Copts 2.) Jews 3.) British 4.) Igbo 5.) Han 6.) Gurkas

The takeaway of this php thing should not be “the world is ending today”. Rather it should be “the software status quo was bad, and you should assume 70% of the Internet is already rooted by one three letter agency. AI helped us catch this and remove it from ongoing risk”

Guess who was boxing Calley Means out and stalling the MAHA agenda? Susie Wiles. Who is trying to keep RFK Jr. on a leash? Susie Wiles. Who is keeping MAHA movers out of government roles? Susie Wiles. Who co-chaired a lobbying firm that represented Pfizer, and was lobbying the FDA for a tobacco company as recently as 2024? Susie Wiles.
EXCLUSIVE - Top RFK Jr. ally and adviser Calley Means has quit the Trump administration. Means was frustrated by White House delays of some of Kennedy’s popular food policies and blamed others in the administration for allowing food companies and special interests to have too much sway, people familiar with the matter said. One of them described him as “disillusioned.” wsj.com/politics/policy/call…

Trump needs to clean house.
In January 2025 my mom’s lung cancer spread to her brain. The drug with the best chance of helping her was approved in China but not here. A doctor told me, almost as an aside, that if she were Chinese she could buy it at a pharmacy. So I flew to Shanghai and came home with 26 boxes in my luggage. That was 19 months ago. My mom is still here, still working, and in her words has had an amazing three years. The drug was approved in China in 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It still is not for sale here. I know of at least 30 Americans who have made the same trip. I have been scared to tell this story because I worried it could cost my mom access to the medicine keeping her alive. But the problem matters more than my silence. These drugs need to be developed and available here, and that means FDA reform. Art Allen at KFF Health News told our story this week. It also ran in The Washington Post. kffhealthnews.org/health-ind…

Much of Cormac McCarthy's success is realizing this & (in the literary world) returning to it, conserving it. His prose was an alloy of Hemingway, Faulkner, & Bacon's crew. The result: he sounded like an American existing simultaneously across & speaking from all eras.
Replying to @goinggodward
A family friend once asserted that the conversational/ literary finesse & eloquence of Southerners was a consequence of the KJV. As the 1 book nearly everyone read, or had read to them, it infused our speech with beauty & vitality. Moving away from it was to our detriment.

Trump Accounts may soon be expanded even more to anyone under 40yrs old. That would be another 100 million people, on top of the 70 million kids and 3.5mil babies born each year. This according to Brad Gerstner who is the main guy spearheading efforts on this. He also said Elon is 'tip of iceberg' Nice scoop and piece on it from @LydiaMoynihan @nypost
