On our system (bytetrend.io), we score trends in price-relative terms from 0-5.
Since 2008, there have. never been so few scores of 5 in our 4000-stock universe. Only 8.5%.
Breadth is at unprecedented lows.

The last time Nike $NKE traded below 2x sales, it was 2009.
It's ten-year forward CAGR from that point was 20%, as it rose from $10 to $60.
They've been working on the turnaround for years, the bear market is exhausted, there's a group move in consumer stocks, the swoosh is invincible - the strongest brand in apparel, and Jordan's star has never waned.
And it's back to a daily relative trend score of 3/5 on @ByteTrend.
One return ticket to Overvalued, please.
$NKE EV to Sales has completed a round trip from 1.3x sales to 8x sales and back.
What's that old saying again - "buy low, sell high"? Good one.

Momentum Reversal Complete
In April, when the Iran war began, momentum $MTUM (buying recent winners) suddenly began outperforming, while low vol $MVOL (defensive quality) stocks lagged.
Following its initial surge, however, momentum crashed in July/August, before a brief rally in September. October has seen the outperformance reduced almost back to 0.
Could've owned $SPY this whole time...

Where's the alpha in markets today?
Where is it moving to, and from?
ByteTrend data breaks this down into a map of global alpha. Here's what changed in the last week ⤵️
Taken a week off from markets?
Here's what you missed, in a thread 🧵
Summary: the world index barely moved, but leadership rotated a lot underneath.
MSCI World $ACWI fell 0.7%. On Friday, its Weekly Local score dropped from 5 to 4, the first time it has been off 5 since mid-April.
Money moved out of megacap tech, semis, precious metals and materials. It moved into healthcare, staples, energy and rate-sensitive stocks.
Leadership across the market kept thinning, as it has since the summer.
Excellent thread breaking down what changed in markets over the past week, as the powerful rotation continued under the surface of a placid world index $ACWI.
Breadth, sectors, countries, themes, stocks, and more, data from @ByteTrend.

Trend following enhances returns and controls risk.
Also known as the momentum factor, it is one of a handful of factors in investing with a proven ability to generate alpha.
This month, @ByteTree has relaunched ByteTrend (bytetrend.io/) to help investors analyse, understand, and capitalise on the momentum effect.
The chart shows the returns from buying winners (blue) vs buying losers (red). The momentum effect has generated a 16x return over the past thirty years.
