LATEST UPDATE: Andrey and Jasper have been released, but they’ve been banned from the West Bank for 60 days.
This is a clear example of Israel trying to prevent us from covering the terror it commits in the West Bank.

“Earlier today, I met with my friend Gadi Eisenkot.
Both of us have devoted long years to Israel's security, and both of us understand all too well the magnitude of the responsibility now placed upon us. Saving Israel is on the line.
We are partners on this path and in the commitment to ensure a better future for Israel.
I am determined to do everything required, with courage and responsibility, to realize the historic opportunity for change and to secure Israel's future as a Jewish and democratic state.
I will continue to update.”

Terrifying footage of settler terrorists attacking and threatening to kill international activists and journalists @the_andrey_x and @infinite_jaz
🚨 TODAY: Settler-terrorists attacked Andrey, Jasper and me. This video shows the assault.
Andrey was severely beaten and lost consciousness several times in front of police. Despite this, he was denied hospital treatment. He was put in an ambulance—but instead of being taken to hospital, he was taken to a police station.
He is still there, arrested and being denied medical care.
Jasper and I were also beaten. Jasper was then pepper-sprayed and arrested.

Israeli democracy has been given a chance. It may not get another. Gadi Eisenkot must now persuade his partners to accept his leadership, build a framework for cooperation with the Arab parties and form a government. Netanyahu knows that many Israelis who flew in to vote won't do it again | @alufbenn

💥Odeh: "Without Arab citizens, Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich would already be celebrating today.
But it's a simple truth: Arab citizens alone cannot bring about the change, and yet without us, it's impossible to defeat them.
Without a genuine and equal Jewish-Arab partnership, it's impossible to build a better future here for all of us.
And we all deserve such a future."

The PES stands proudly in solidarity with our sister party @TheDemocrats_il and leader @YairGolan1 as the ballots continue to be counted after yesterday’s elections in #Israel.
As Yair rightly stated:
"The vote of an Israeli citizen casting a ballot in Tira is worth exactly the same as the vote of an Israeli citizen casting a ballot in Givat Shmuel. Not less. Exactly the same."
True democracy leaves no room for division or racism. European Social Democrats stand with those courageously defending universal democratic equality and a shared future.
