It’s odd that the Daily Mail is not reporting that they have had a reporter literally living with Thomas Markle for years

Sounds like exactly the sort of thing that could plausibly happen to a fearless journalist who holds peoples feet to the fire and speaks truth to power etc

Well at least we know it wasn't someone even vaguely on the left, and that's why it's just great tittle tattle rather than a police matter

Beyond honoured and humbled to be nominated in the Hounding An Obscure Black Academic To His Death On Behalf Of Those In Power With Certain Agendas Despite His Being Found Not Guilty Of The Charges I Did Everything I Could To Sensationalize category.
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026

I remember when Smalltown Boy was released in 1984. It told a story of rejection, loneliness and the courage to live authentically. Four decades later, we’re still having conversations about whose identity deserves respect. Jimmy Somerville’s response reminds me why solidarity matters. Gay and trans people don’t have to agree on everything to recognise the importance of dignity, acceptance and belonging. Nobody should have to feel like a Smalltown Boy again. ❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
“How f*cking dare you.” Gay icon Jimmy Somerville denounces trans hate front @AllianceLGB for using his classic Smalltown Boy on one of their propaganda films. Jimmy says he will do everything he can to have it removed. ⭐️The LGB Alliance are a front set up to persecute trans people shortly after the US Religious Right decided to switch targets from gay rights to trans rights.

You desperately want to believe he did commit plagiarism so you can absolve yourself from the guilt of hounding a black man to his death. But guess what? Even if he committed plagiarism (and clearly he didn’t) you still have blood on your hands so give it a rest
Substandard non-investigation by Taylor & Francis into Jason Arday's 2020 paper 'Attempting to break the chain' - used by Byline Times to clear him of all wrongdoing - is clear from their failure to do anything about his fabricated affiliations with Ohio State and Nelson Mandela University

Ursula K. Le Guin in 2014: “Hard times are coming, when we will be wanting voices who can see alternatives to how we live now, can see through our fear-stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being…We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable—but then, so did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings.” During the feudal era, the greed and power of kings ruled society until the people fought back. Now, in the capitalist era, the greed and power of billionaires rule society. Like the kings, they think their reign will last forever, but it will only last until the people rise up and change it. Different eras, similar struggle. The struggle of the people to liberate ourselves from the greed of the ruling class and the power and wealth imbalances of top-down hierarchical societies. As powerful and inescapable as capitalism feels, it has no power without the people and the workers who make it run! Once the people figure this out en masse the world is ours to collectively share together!

The fearless journalism of Helen Lewis. After bullying a man to suicide, she wants to continue bullying him after his death.
This line - Arday has been "cleared" of plagiarism - comes from a Byline Times article reporting that Taylor & Francis has decided that no FURTHER corrections are required to a 2020 Arday paper.

The obvious answer is they saw it just fine and continued anyway, because they believe Israelis are real humans with lives and rights who matter, and they view Palestinians as some lesser form of being - orcs, zombies - that can and maybe should be treated with immense cruelty.

I cannot conceive of hating a demographic of people so deeply that you would rather remain untreated - even outside a hospital context, where lack of treatment by may well mean death - than consent to being touched by a member of that demographic.
Meanwhile, the BBC runs articles like this - which read more like activism than journalism. Nobody should abuse or assault ambulance staff. That is completely unacceptable. But this article presents patients refusing care as prejudice. Without acknowledging a crucial fact: that the paramedic is male. Neither does it acknowledge that some women may have legitimate reasons for refusing care from a male paramedic - regardless of how he identifies - including previous experiences of sexual violence, religious beliefs or a desire for single-sex care. Good journalism should be able to reflect both positions: that no healthcare worker should face abuse - and that female patients have legitimate sex-based privacy and dignity concerns. The BBC has too often fallen short of its duty of due impartiality on this issue. And by presenting one perspective while overlooking legitimate competing rights and interests, it has helped embed an ideology rather than critically examining it.

How dead do you want him to be @helenlewis? Shall we dig him up and beat his cadaver? Are you looking into a much darker UK HE scandal: Oxford prof charged with CSAM, plugged into rightwing networks and until very recently, lover of Tory grandee Michael Gove? If not, why not?

When we had just the slimmest chance of changing things for the better, Marsan stretched every sinew to prevent it. He is like liberals everywhere: they only demand change when there is no chance of getting it.
Eddie Marsan railing against inequality & trickle down economics We had an opportunity to introduce mild social democracy that would have started to address these very issues & people like Marsan spent years trashing it. Now he's back to proclaiming his progressive credentials.

There's always a Magic Money Tree when it comes to arms spending. In this case, the money may be "off the books", but debt is debt wherever you hide it. Lenders will exact a high price in interest rates, and that will ultimately be paid by us in more austerity... or worse.
