ZIMBABWE MUST BE ALLOWED TO MOURN
The tragedy on Lake Kariba has left families grieving, communities wounded and our nation carrying a burden of sorrow.
Behind every life lost was a human being — a mother, father, son, daughter, sister, brother, friend and neighbour. Behind every name is a family whose life has been changed forever.
There comes a moment after great national tragedy when a country must stop. Not because life has ended, but because the lives that have ended deserve to be remembered.
We therefore call upon Zimbabweans to observe *Friday, 28 August 2026 as RIZPAH DAY* — a National Day of Mourning and Moral Witness for those whose lives were lost in the Kariba ferry tragedy.
This will be a peaceful and voluntary national act of mourning and solidarity with the bereaved families, survivors and affected communities.
Wherever you are, participate according to your conscience and circumstances.
⚫ WEAR BLACK.
🏠 STAY AWAY.
🙏 PRAY.
🕯️ REMEMBER.
Let us mourn peacefully.
Let us stand with the bereaved.
Let us show through our collective compassion that *every Zimbabwean life matters.*

What happened yesterday was expected given the harsh and difficult conditions our people are being subjected to , but for other opposition folks to laugh and criticize effort and the voice of resoan is sad and pitiful.

Today is Sunday. Let us pray for Zimbabwe.
The battle for the soul of our nation is far from over. This morning I woke up to reports that Wicknell Chivayo has "gifted" US$1 million towards the construction of Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa's church, together with a 2026 Rolls-Royce

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) met today and adopted the following critical resolutions:
1. Defending the Constitution: The Union resolved to join the People’s Coalition to actively push back against the recent Constitutional Amendment Act 3.
2. Solidarity with Cuba: ARTUZ resolved to offer practical solidarity to the people of Cuba, who remain under a cruel and criminal blockade imposed by the United States government. Cuba has consistently provided the world with exceptional doctors to treat the underserved, dedicated teachers for those without access to education, and revolutionaries to help free those under colonial rule. The international community must not remain silent while Cubans are punished with this unjust blockade.
3. Public Service Act Alignment: The Union resolved to plan a protest at Parliament demanding the urgent amendment of the Public Service Act to align it with the 2013 Constitution. We question why CAB3 was fast-tracked in a fortnight, while aligning the Public Service Act has been delayed for years. The Act must explicitly provide for the rights to strike and collective bargaining.
4. Living Wage Demand: Regarding remuneration, the Union resolved to routinely protest at government offices to demand a minimum salary of USD 1,260.
5. Bridge to Belonging Campaign: In response to returning residents who are victims of xenophobic violence in South Africa, the Union will run the "Bridge to Belonging" campaign. This initiative will compile a database of returning teachers and learners and facilitate their seamless reintegration into our education system.

Tomorrow we are appearing before Mbare court to answer to the baseless charges of MDP and disorderly conduct . He intended to make us victims of his constitutional coup. He failed ,we still stand where we stood. Our voice as young people will not be ignored.

As a new week begins, let us remember what is truly at stake. This has never been merely a contest over parliamentary numbers. It is a contest over whether constitutional power flows from the people or from political elites. The answer remains unchanged. The people are sovereign. The Constitution belongs to the people. And the people must decide. #DefendTheConstitution

🚨🚨GOOD NEWS! Our indefatigable National Youth Leader, Cde @EmmanuelSitima7 , is officially out on bail! After a tense appearance at the Mbare Magistrates Court yesterday where he was granted $100 bail, our dedicated cadres thronged the Remand Prison to welcome him back into our ranks. He appeared again today before Magistrate Ndokera, where the State, represented by Fidelis, faced off against defense lawyers Arnold Tsunga and Jeremiah Bamu . The court has adjourned the matter to the 9th of July, but for now, we are celebrating this small victory. This is not the end of the fight, but a crucial step in the journey toward justice. We remain resolute and will be out in full force on the 9th! #EmmanuelSitima #Justice #YouthLeader #Zimbabwe

Dear @edmnangagwa,
Please stop this behavior of harassing and jailing young people who hold different political views from yours on the issue of #CAB3. With me here is Emmanuel Sitima whom your regime has arrested on frivolous and cooked up charges of maliciously damaging property worth $10 belonging to a ZANU-PF Youth Chairperson in Waterfalls, as if that was not enough you went on denial him bail both in the Magistrate Court and the High Court of Zimbabwe saying that there is possibility he will abscond from court and interfere with state witnesses. How can you deny someone bail for damaging property worth $10? But some of us we know very well that this is targeted and political persecution because Sitima is one of the youths who have been vocal against your unpopular and nonsensical Constitution Amendment No.3 Bill of 2026! Mr. Mnangagwa, all we want is just freedom, that's all we want. "Freedom". Freedom for children to learn, freedom for men to work, for mothers to love, for a nation to grow, and that's all we want "EQUALITY" for everyone! Sitima is just one of MANY, the foot soldiers. There will be many, many more to follow, so there is NO Court of Law, NO Police Force, NO Army that will stop the tide of REVOLUTION from turning. There is no Punishment that you can lay out in your courts today, NO Law this Government can pass that will kill the will of the PEOPLE because we will FIGHT, we will Continue to FIGHT until all our PEOPLE are Free! and maybe we can even free you from yourselves. So you can hurt/hate us, degrade us, torture us, arrest us, and kill us, but we will FIGHT, and we will be FREE one day, we will be FREE!!!!
