This is nuts. It was already a terrible deal for the UK. To save a projected £250m a year we added £2bn+ a year to our carbon costs and gave the EU control over what carbon tax applies to. Now we are going to pay them for the pleasure too? This is economic suicide.
Britain has agreed to pay into European Union development schemes as the price for rejoining the bloc’s electricity market, according to a draft text seen by The Telegraph. Taxpayer money will be funnelled into projects to build roads, airports and green energy facilities across the bloc’s poorer member states under the plan. In exchange, British energy companies will be allowed to trade freely in the EU’s single market for electricity. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/11…

We spent a record £561m balancing the power grid in October, the second record month in a row. Balancing costs this autumn have passed £1bn, and NESO forecasts put 2026 close to £4bn. There are two things are driving it 🧵

You resigned in disgrace ten months ago, caught underpaying £40,000 in stamp duty on your £800,000 flat, found to have breached the Ministerial Code. You dealt your way back by backing Burnham, but notice what you didn't get. He made Louise Haigh his enforcer while you got your old Housing Secretary job back, demoted and diminished. Now you prance about with jazz hands celebrating "historic new powers" for Sadiq Khan over nightclub licensing while the country cannot get GP appointments, cannot afford housing, and watches its communities transformed without consent. You are not a Deputy Prime Minister anymore. You are a cautionary tale with a reduced security pass, a disgraced tax-dodger rehabilitated by backroom bargain. Your "comeback" is an insult to every honest taxpayer you short-changed. Go dance with your friend. The adults are watching, remembering, and preparing the invoice.
A pleasure to join my friend @MayorofLondon today to celebrate the beating heart of London’s nightlife. We’re giving the Mayor historic new powers over licensing decisions to keep the capital buzzing, supporting jobs and growth. 🎷🎵

Everything about Burnham's meeting with Mia Amor Mottley should sound the alarm for Brits. This looks like the beginning of a massive wealth extraction programme from the West to the Global South (ditto with the goals of the climate agenda). charlottecgill.co.uk/p/burnh…

Dear @andyburnham While your off giving our Countries money away for something that no one alive has experianced and our Country has already paid for, where are my reparations for being sacrificed by my Country to be gang raped to keep racial peace? My childhood was take. My innocence gone. I lost my child. Years of my life stripped from me. My education. My home repeatedly. My future. My safety. Everything has been taken from me because my Country failed me and now my justice i fought long and hard for is being stripped away while my rapists are once again prioritised over me. Yet, I have never had anything. I had to beg the public to help me get me and my family safe while my rapists were being released because the system wouldn't help. This Country is broken and you would think it was a joke if it wasn't so fucking deversating. A once great Country, sacrificing its own people for every one else's benefit.

Kemi-kasi explaining why the Tories did the Boriswave: ‘We wanted to lower immigration. But there were so many other things that people were looking at and focusing on that actually as the numbers increased, MINISTERS DIDN'T NOTICE, civil servants didn’t notice until well after huge numbers had come into our country.’ She was a joke minister who nodded along the Boriswave and now claims literally 'we didn't NOTICE'. Take everything she says as seriously as this
Shabana has made a serious mistake surrendering to Labour MPs. So I’m putting people on notice - when we get into government we will scrap this weak policy. Immigration is too high. Labour are making a bad situation much, much worse. The Conservative Party is under new management. I accept this problem started under a previous Conservative govt. Many of those in that Cabinet have gone to Reform where they belong. And I’ve got a proper plan to fix it👇

Danny tommo is going to belmarsh but the man that was part of a gang of criminals that were prosecuted for abusing me, involved in raping, torturing and trafficking children and young girls for years along with violent crimes, links to murders and gun crimes, drug trafficking and smuggling into prison is off to a Cat D prison with day release. Someone please make it make sense?
SERIOUS UPDATE REGARDING DANNY TOMMO - Very concerning news from my dad has just come to light. His case for the incident where he went into the Dover Immigration Facility was due to be heard in Kent Magistrates tomorrow, this has now been moved to Westminster, less than 24 hours before the court hearing with one of the highest profile magistrate judges in the land overseeing the case. This causes a major safety risk for my father as he has been told he will not be returning to Winchester but will be held in Belmarsh My dad and my family have had numerous threats to life many of these are from people in that area of the country or people connected to Belmarsh prison itself and this unjustified legal manoeuvre has major implications and potential life threatening repercussions. I will update you as this situation progresses Thank you all Shae.

🚨 IMMIGRATION RULES SHAPED BY FOREIGN NATIONALS? 🇬🇧 82% of respondents to a major government consultation on immigration settlement rules were NOT British citizens. The Home Office has published its findings, and the figures are revealing. 📊 202,241 individuals responded. 🔴 73% were current visa holders. 🇬🇧 Just 18% were British citizens. The government has since softened some of its original proposals on who can live in Britain permanently, although the standard qualifying period is still increasing from five to ten years. The consultation was self-selecting, with visa holders heavily represented. And that's the issue. How many ordinary British citizens even knew this consultation was taking place? ❓ Should foreign nationals have a say on Britain's immigration policy? 💬 Interested to hear your views. 📊 Follow for more facts and figures behind the headlines.

I’ve never told any trans person what they ‘should be.’ As far as I’m concerned, trans people can call themselves whatever they like and believe whatever they like about themselves. What trans people aren’t entitled to is universal agreement that they’ve changed sex, acclaim for their embodiment of sex stereotypes, the reconfiguration of laws around an objective untruth or women’s surrender of their sex-based rights.

They literally have nothing else in the tank apart from nostalgia for those glory days when Brussels wrote the laws & UK politicians implemented them. Taking responsibility for our country's destiny? Nah, far too difficult. Democracy be damned.
NEW Rachel Reeves tonight declares Britain should return to the European Union The former chancellor says Brexit made the UK “poorer, weaker and less secure” She will make her case in a lecture at the Harvard Kennedy School on Monday Reeves helped draft the Labour 2024 manifesto which said no EU return She’s one of the most prominent Lab figures to back rejoin since Burnham became PM The tectonic plates within Labour are shifting. Will more follow her? Reeves writes in The Sunday Times: “I am proud of the progress we have already made in strengthening our relationship with the European Union. Brexit has made us poorer, weaker and less secure. “There is a debate to be had about our future relationship with Europe, and I welcome Andy Burnham’s leadership in facing up to this. No one in the Treasury ever doubted where my instincts were. “I do believe Britain’s future lies in the European Union. “However, it is incumbent on supporters of our re-entry to make the argument, demonstrate tangible benefits and to get the next steps right — especially ahead of the UK-EU summit later this month, where at a minimum we should be looking for confirmation of the ambitious youth mobility scheme negotiated earlier this year, and — I hope — progress towards entry into the SAFE defence partnership.” thetimes.com/article/06d9b6a…

I’ve been Self employed or run a small limited company all my life, at one time employing 2 people full time & 2 part time. The longest I took off when I had my 3 children was a week. Becuase if I didn’t work I didn’t earn. Labour have absolutely no idea what private sector work is! It’s so insulting
What an extraordinary statement. Apparently, according to Labour, employers aren't working people. Tell that to the small business owners working 60-hour weeks, risking their savings, paying their staff and keeping their businesses afloat. Labour can play with definitions and indulge in endless whataboutery, but it cannot escape the consequences of its decisions. Taxing employers affects jobs, wages and the very people Labour claims to protect.

You see this is the problem. Nobody in the Cabinet has ever run a business. Most small businesses owners work harder than their staff, they also frequently put their homes at risk as security for business loans. This Labour government simply don’t have a clue. My qualifications to comment - small businesses owner for decades!

🚨 "I DON'T THINK EMPLOYERS ARE WORKING PEOPLE" That's the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Emma Reynolds. So who are Britain's employers? 🔴 1.42 MILLION businesses employ staff ✅ 81% of them have fewer than 10 staff ❌ Just 8,335 are large firms 💷 SMEs provide 16.9 MILLION jobs, 60% of private sector employment Not faceless corporations. The builder with an apprentice. The café owner. The local hairdresser. Perhaps ministers should meet a few of them. Are business owners not working people?

This is literally unbelievable… An 80-year-old with severe Alzheimer’s just REGAINED her memory, emotions, ability to speak, ability to walk, AND bladder control after ONE psilocybin dose. No Alzheimer’s drug has EVER done anything remotely close to this.

The Chancellor is pulling a fast one on the self-employed. Labour spent the Budget pretending to be on their side. Dig into the facts, and the truth becomes clear. Labour plans to make the self-employed pay tax every month, or every quarter. Instead of paying on what they earn, however, it’ll be based on what the Government expects them to earn. So if they lose work, or a client doesn’t pay, they could end up with the taxman chasing them for money they never had. It’ll be like those estimated bills by incompetent utility companies such as Thames Water, which you have to spend hours on the phone trying to resolve when they get it wrong. Except it’s even worse as Labour is expending their power to grab the money directly from your account, without so much as a court order. What could possibly go wrong? It feels like the tax system is being set up purely for the convenience of the taxman. It would be nice if they just concentrated on answering the phone on time…

“I think this bill is ripe for a declaration of incompatibility. And what an embarrassment that would be for the signature centre piece of human rights legislation to run a risk of incompatibility. Particularly on Article 8 when the first poor, unfortunate parents, I suspect mothers, are arrested under this bill”. Yesterday, at the first oral evidence session at the Joint Committee on the draft Conversion Practices Bill in Westminster, the panel was asked how the bill will interact with the European Convention on Human Rights. Watch criminal barrister Dennis Kavanagh @Jebadoo2 set out how the bill will be incompatible with Article 7, 8, 9, 10 and 14 of the ECHR.

Nearly two years ago I settled accounts with Donald Tusk unsparingly. With his actions today he has confirmed every warning I issued: “Mr Tusk, politicians like you are the greatest threat to European nations. While you were in opposition you attacked your own country’s sovereignty with the help of the EU. Now that you are back in power you are destroying the rule of law in Poland. Opposition figures are being hunted down and politically inconvenient court rulings are being overturned. Your media coup was illegal, and now you are threatening even more censorship on the internet. This increasingly resembles a regime. In a single year you have committed more breaches of the rule of law than PiS dared to attempt in eight years. The EU lets you get away with all of it, because you were always Brussels’ most obedient servant. And now you threaten to extend your work of destruction to the whole of Europe – mass migration, censorship, geopolitical escalation, wokeness, the Green Deal. You are one of the chief architects of all of this, even if you now pretend to know nothing about it. You are a Polish Angela Merkel. You are a Polish Ursula von der Leyen. And the worst part is that you are proud of it. That is bad for your country, Poland, and it is bad for our continent, Europe.”

WTF? A Prime Minister who has never run a business in his life demands answers because a private business fails? … let me help you, Andy & co. A retail chain needs to stay in fashion, needs to go with the flow! … But you and successive governments don’t like their “tat” products (mostly sourced off shore to sell them at £1!!! That the whole point right?) anyway… for free (without a taxpayer funded £MULTIMILLION enquiry I’ll tell you the problems… (you’re welcome) ▪️massively increased regulations and compliance costs. ▪️cheap tat sourced from abroad, with rising shipping and transport costs. ▪️Hit by increased minimum wages and employer National Insurance. ▪️Hit by rising rents and business rates. ▪️Hit by soaring energy bills and net zero costs. ▪️Hit by higher interest rates. ▪️Hit by consumers with less disposable income. ▪️Hit by the soaring cost of borrowing to buy stock months in advance. ▪️Hit by higher insurance premiums. ▪️Hit by shoplifting, organised theft and security costs. ▪️Hit by packaging taxes, recycling regulations and environmental compliance costs.( which you just throw into general taxation, non of it changes the weather) ▪️Hit by higher fuel, warehousing and distribution costs. ▪️Hit by increased employment costs, pensions and statutory obligations. ▪️Hit by competition from overseas online retailers operating with very different overheads.( duty free … for foreign businesses oops) ▪️And hit by the impossibility of passing those costs onto customers, who shop at Poundland precisely because they need cheap stuff! … which isn’t cheap anymore (see above) Every single time you add something on … so do they! And the idiot, deluded politicians who have made Britain more and more expensive and difficult to do business in, are demanding to know why businesses are struggling? You are all moronic. My work here is done 🤡

Here is a breakdown of the Labour frontbench career experience prior to becoming an MP. Hardly any private sector experience. These are the people now deciding tax rates, regulation, industrial and economic strategy. Precious little work experience of generating a profit, making payroll or gaining a client or a customer. Economic illiterates.
