Neuralink’s first product is called Telepathy. It enables high-speed communication with computers or humans simply by thinking. Output bandwidth will vastly exceed the fastest human speech or typing in a few years. Read that sentence again.
Our engineers recently visited one of our speech restoration study participants for a 72-hour hackathon. The goal: rapidly prototype as many features as possible to enhance the experience of using Neuralink to communicate with thought. Here are some of the things we built 🧵

In the 16 hours after the Oct 29 Binance hack, the leverage left DeFi through repayments rather than liquidations, a quieter exit than the selloff headlines suggest. Stablecoin debt across the major lending protocols fell $244M while liquidations came to about $1.9M. 📉 Total stablecoin debt fell 4.4% to $5.29B, its lowest level since Aug 7. 📊 $213M of the decline came between 00:00 and 04:00 UTC on Oct 30, more than double the largest 4h drop since May. 🧭 Repayments in that window hit $383M, against $141M of new borrowing. Debt had already fallen $263M over the three weeks since its Oct 5 peak, and the hack night nearly matched that overnight. 🔗 Explore DeFi stablecoin debt in Sanbase: app.santiment.net/charts/def…

Our exchange-flow data picked up the Binance wallet movement within the hour. 📊 $USDT leaving exchanges in the 20:00 UTC hour was more than 8x the next-largest hour since Oct 27. 📊 $ETH outflows in the same hour ran about 3x the next-largest hour since Oct 27. 🧭 Binance says it is investigating a potential security issue and that user funds are safe. It has not called the outflows a hack. A note for anyone reading flow charts tomorrow: a record outflow usually means coins moving into self-custody. This one is not that. The bulk went from Binance hot wallets to newly created addresses, and frozen funds still show up as outflow. 🔗 Explore USDT and ETH exchange outflows in Sanbase: app.santiment.net/charts/usd…

Every week, Santiment’s researchers put together the Weekly Anomaly Report: a recap of the spikes, divergences and other unusual market events our data registered. Each edition flags setups worth watching, sets out the market backdrop, and grades how the previous week’s calls played out. The Oct 7 to 14 edition, just out on our Substack, found one strong setup: $STRK, where price, activity and crowd mood all peaked on the same day. 📈 STRK rose about 120% from Oct 8 to Oct 11 on plans to become its own blockchain. Active addresses, new wallets and crowd sentiment all hit their weekly highs on Oct 11, alongside price. 📉 By Oct 13, active addresses were down more than 60%, new wallets about 80% and price about 30%. 🧭 Last week’s call on $SAND missed. Traders kept betting against it, as the setup required, and price fell about 23% anyway. The full report grades every call and lists what to watch next. Subscribe to our Substack to get each edition as it lands, plus the rest of our research and stories. 🔗 Read the full Santiment Weekly Anomaly Report: santimentdata.substack.com/p…

Today we're standing up XBOX LABS (labs.xbox.com). Here is the note that I sent to the team: Team, The first video games emerged some 75 years ago. In the time since, there have been booms and busts, but every year there are more great games to play, more devices to play them, and best of all, more people than ever playing. That growth helped make XBOX what it is today, and we've helped shape the industry in return, from bringing hard drives to consoles and online gaming through Xbox Live to Game Pass and cloud gaming, alongside franchises that have brought millions of people together. In recent weeks, we've seen games rapidly decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never originally designed to support. Windows PC builds have been translated to run on Apple Silicon or ported to run inside a browser through WebAssembly and WebGPU, the latter now approaching 90% global browser support. Perhaps more surprisingly, we've seen many of the biggest games in the world have been remixed into the source code of another. These experiments challenge long-held assumptions about our industry: the tether between software and hardware, the boundary between creation and play, and how people discover and experience games. While it is hard to predict the future of gaming, it is easy to see the possibilities in making great games easier to access, giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models. To explore these possibilities, I’ve asked Scott to stand-up XBOX LABS, a small group of game makers, engineers and scientists whose job is to turn emerging ideas into things our players and developers can experience. We'll build in the open, learn from what people do, and measure success by whether more people are playing and creating. I think XBOX has an important role to play here. Coding became the first major workload for agents because they can write, run, and test software. Games share many of those same properties, and people spend more than 72 billion hours a year playing XBOX games, roughly five times the estimated time spent writing code worldwide. We've spent 25 years learning how to make great games, and I want our game makers to help shape what these new technologies make possible. As we learn, we’ll share the tools we build with developers across the industry, just as we always have. Our priorities aren't changing. We remain committed to the 4Cs, to making great games, to our hardware and to being responsible stewards of IP and the communities built around it. LABS gives us a way to explore new technology that is game design led without abandoning the work already underway. Asha

Leaving SG @token2049 here’s my tldr: * Stands absolutely anti signal * Very small dinners are where things happen * Asia reminds us how much US suck on security/ infrastructure/ food/ hygiene/ value for money in general * Prediction markers (aka gambling) dominate retail * There are always more exchanges that I know of (gambling redux) * Most VCs are GONE * Remaining and successful VCs are all about PAYMENTS (thru crypto to fringe industries/ countries/ clients) * Apparently coupons to give to financial dominatrix is a fringe industry * Nobody talks about true crypto (L1s, consensus mechanisms, decentralization) * Some smart ones are scared shitless about AI hacks and cryptography jailbreaks Here you go, I saved you the business class 19-hour ticket price, and the world a picture of you in it. Onwards.

Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test. 48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video. It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. The brown sugar at the grocery store is usually white sugar with molasses added back. Light brown is about 3.5% molasses. Dark brown is about 6.5%. The molasses is where the color and the caramel taste come from, and there's too little of it to change the nutrition. Brown sugar is still about 95% sucrose, with 380 calories per 100 grams against about 390 for white. Stir a little molasses into white sugar at home and you've made brown sugar.

🐋 $QNT and ethereum:0xc944e90c64b2c07662a292be6244bdf05cda44a7 are suddenly getting serious whale attention. QNT has roughly 4x’d during its late-September run, while 645 whale transactions worth at least $100K just hit the network in one day, the highest level ever recorded on this chart. GRT simultaneously reached 24 $100K+ transactions, its highest count of 2026. 🏦 Quant has a very clear catalyst. The Clearing House selected Quant on September 24 to power the interoperability and transaction layer for its new tokenized-deposit network, connecting banks with existing RTP and CHIPS payment rails. That announcement gave traders a concrete institutional-use story to chase. 🌐 GRT’s catalyst is more gradual. The Graph Foundation is moving more Subgraph Studio traffic onto The Graph Network, while recent protocol changes are designed to increase real network usage and improve GRT’s economics. Crypto’s strong September rebound has added extra fuel as traders rotate toward infrastructure and higher-risk altcoins. ⚠️ Whale activity confirms that large players are paying attention, but it doesn’t tell us whether every whale is buying or selling. After QNT +299% and GRT +47%, FOMO risk is extremely high. Chasing vertical candles becomes dangerous when profits are this large, so continued whale activity is encouraging, but cooling prices and consolidation would create a healthier setup than another straight-line surge. 🔗Live Chart: app.santiment.net/charts/qnt…

Is the $UNI rally accumulation? Price added ~30% between Sep 17 and Sep 22, across the SEC’s tokenized-stock exemption and CME’s futures announcement. The exchange data points the other way. 🔀 UNI held on exchanges rose by 6.3M tokens from Sep 17 to Sep 23, about $58M at the Sep 23 close. 📉 The two heaviest inflow days were Sep 22 and Sep 23. Price closed Sep 23 down ~10%. 🧭 Exchange supply now sits within 0.2% of its 60-day high, set Aug 30. What we still don’t know: whether those tokens are headed for a sale, a hedge or collateral. Deposits show supply available to sell, not a decision to sell. The rally pulled UNI onto exchanges, not off them. 🔗 Track UNI exchange flows in Sanbase: app.santiment.net/charts/uni…
