The horrific attacks on young schoolgirls in Panchkula, Haryana & Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh cannot be viewed in isolation. They stem from a culture that normalises violence, glorifies toxic machismo, and gives internet incels platforms like X to legitimise misogyny.

Decades later sung that casually in a TV show and dare I say it was even better. Also listen to genius of chitra amma. Maybe this is what is called as ajanma Shruthi jnanam.
Ravindra Jain was gifted beyond measure. I keep wondering how someone who never saw the world could write lines so full of light and longing : “nadiya ke kinaare aaj usi ambva ke tale aana”

A team of experts free from political bias needs to travel across India to understand what our poverty actually looks like on the ground. Headline numbers must be examined carefully. I once did this exercise for Shamika Ravi. Last year, the Indus Valley report observed that around 80% of Indians have negligible or zero ability to spend on discretionary goods. Rama Bijapurkar is widely regarded as one of the most reliable experts on Indian consumption. Her consumer segmentation: L5 (Affluent): Annual household spend of ₹11.24 lakh+, covering just 25 million people L4 (Resilient): ₹5.4 to 7 lakh, covering 71 million people L3 (Real Middle): ₹3.8 to 5.4 lakh, covering 200 million people L2 (Strained Mass): ₹2.2 to 3.8 lakh, covering 432 million people L1 (Vulnerables): ₹1.1 to 2.2 lakh, covering a massive 707 million people These figures refer to household expenditure, not individual spending. Taken together, L1 and L2 account for nearly 80% of India’s population. For them, everyday life is a constant struggle. They are living on the edge. The others are not living in luxury, but the scale of vulnerability at the bottom is stark. 80% of the country is just surviving and that too with great difficulty. Over the years I have shared extensive data on income, expenditure, wealth and poverty. We see only what we want to see. We simply refuse to face reality.

Nirmala Sitharaman, dragging up incidents from 1957 and the 1980s won’t answer questions about your government’s record. Under Modi, public sector banks have written off over ₹12 lakh crore in loans between 2015-16 and 2024-25. These are not loan waivers, but the scale of corporate bad debts cannot simply be brushed aside. And now, after pumping over ₹25,000 crore of public money into IDBI Bank to revive it, your government is transferring 60.72% control to a private foreign investor. The real question is simple: Why should taxpayers bear the cost of rescuing a public institution, only to see control handed over to private ownership? Stop lecturing us about Congress’s past. Answer for your government’s present. Public money, public accountability!
We all know how @INCIndia has used Banks and financial institutions as personal entities and pressured bank employees to extend loans at their whim, bypassing prudent lending norms. Let me list a few instances. - In 1957, Haridas Mundra got money from LIC due to influence by the Congress leaders. - In 1976, Indira Gandhi's government removed SBI Chairman R.K. Talwar after he refused political pressure to relax lending conditions for a company linked to Sanjay Gandhi's circle. - Sanjay Gandhi pressured the Central Bank of India over loans to Maruti. - B. Janardhana Poojary, MoS Finance under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi — pressured bank employees to issue loans in the 1980s. - Pawan Kumar Bansal, as a minister in the UPA, pressured Canara Bank to give loans to his family-linked businesses. The IDBI Bank was handed over to us in poor shape, as IDBI itself was forced to lend to large business groups with close connections to @INCIndia leaders such as Videocon, Winsome, ABG Shipyard, Kingfisher, etc. These turned into bad loans, causing huge losses for IDBI Bank, which we recognised. The NDA govt led by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi revived the IDBI bank through professionalism, prudence and recapitalisation of more than Rs 25,000 crores. The IDBI Bank is now poised for its next phase of growth. All due process has been followed in the IDBI Bank strategic restructuring, and we have already clarified this yesterday. Check this: pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.… Many more instances of blatant scams and economic mismanagement have been covered in the White Paper on the Indian Economy released in February 2024. It remains relevant even now. Read here: bsmedia.business-standard.co… Your lies with respect to Rafale had failed and were exposed. You had to apologise. The same will happen here. Congress-era banking had a phonebook for the powerful and a rulebook for the common citizens. The era of 'connection and setting banking' is over. Common people now have easy access to loans, and employees are not under pressure to extend loans over the phone calls.

Why does he always end up producing cringe-worthy, troll-level stuff in the name of PR? When you’re spending public money, not even money from your own pocket, why can’t you at least come up with some quality content? How are Sanghis okay with this? Why aren’t they demanding better PR content from these jokers? Honestly, I’m beyond amused at this point. 😬

Very same parent would be happy to setup a stranger as groom and send them into a room in the name of arranged marriage but 23yo adult having a boyfriend is where their cultural heritage is ruined 🤧🤧 ugh
Simrat Kaur from Amritsar, Punjab, went to surprise her 23-year-old daughter on her birthday. Her parents and brother arrived at her room at Lovely Professional University without informing her. They knocked on the door, but there was no response for 15 minutes. Finally, the door opened, and her daughter calmly said, “I was studying inside.” Just then, a neighbour rushed over and said, “Someone jumped out of your back window. There’s blood coming from their head!” The daughter immediately replied, “I don’t know anything. I was just studying in my room.” Imagine the parents’ shock. They had come with a birthday cake to make their daughter happy, but instead, they found themselves facing a shocking situation. Sadly, incidents like these raise serious questions about what is happening in our society today. Sometimes, the truth is not what we expect. Before trusting appearances, we should think carefully and understand the full situation. If you think this could never happen, imagine arriving somewhere unexpectedly and discovering something you never expected to see.

IT'S NOT ABOUT THE RICH & THE POOR, IT'S ABOUT DIGNITY OF LABOUR - 21 floors. 20 kg of cemented bricks on one head. 4 modern lifts in the building, but zero allowed for the human who actually built it ! Our system still treats the real builders of this nation like second-class citizens. Progress means nothing if humanity is left behind. Shame on this system! 💔🤬

Visit Kerala with an open mind, and it might surprise you in the most unexpected ways. A random guy at a local tea shop can speak decent English and sing beautifully. Music is deeply ingrained in Kerala’s culture, and the average Malayali has a remarkably discerning ear for it.

What fatuous commentary in a country gripped by soaring inflation, consistently high food & cooking gas prices and frankly no choice but to cut down on food expenditure. The only ones this is amusing to, is those with the privilege of wealth & rice of all colours.
