There are many posts about people's criteria on whether they follow someone on X.
Below is what I believe to be the most important.
- Do they demonstrate critical thinking skills? This can be seen in how they chain their thoughts together and arrive at THEIR conclusion.
- Do they have their ego under control? This can be seen if they refrain from emotional outbursts and resorting to labeling as a means of communication. They are open to being wrong. One's ego is the source of so much suffering.
- Do they say things with respect? The world can use a little more respect for our elders, for a uniform, and in general, respect for our fellow human. However, it is important to be reminded that respect is something that may be given initially but can be quickly taken by what one says and does.
- Do they have courage or the self-confidence to say what is perhaps not popular? This is a big one. In today's digital world, it is easy to be bullied in to silence. It takes a special person to speak out in such an environment.
So, what about you? What are your criteria? Please criticize mine as we can all stand to be less wrong and only through thoughtful, well-constructed, non-egotistical and respectful dialogue will this be achieved.
Thanks for reading and Happy Monday! 馃榾

I think there is a considerable greater chance than zero that 3-5 years could be a correct timeline.

It is already attacking the genetic issue whether hereditary or through a mutation through gene splicing or through battling cancer through things like CAR-T cell therapy.

Didn鈥檛 work out too well at Blue Origin.
More Waymo鈥檚 = Way Mo Problems
We have all see the many videos of Waymo鈥檚 doing all sorts of crazy and at times very unsafe things.
Waymo is now pressured to put out more vehicles in places where Tesla鈥檚 Robotaxi is outpacing them. This will seek to only amplify their problems.
To be fair, there are definitely Robotaxis doing some silly things too but I believe this one of the reasons why Tesla has been scaling upward at the pace that they have.

GM relies on our government to bail them out due to their incompetence and ego.
Looks like Italy will get fast tracked for FSD/Robotaxi.
Very positive and constructive conversation with @elonmusk today.
Italy is looking with great interest at the opportunities offered by assisted driving technologies, with a focus on innovation and road safety, and supports a swift EU approval of Tesla Assisted Driving.
Thanks for the exchange, Elon!

And I have surgeon friends who believe strongly that they are not replaceable. 馃檮
I started telling folks about 3 years ago that in our lifetime diseases will be eradicated, genetic disorders will be cured, and that everyone can choose to live hundreds of years in the not too distant future. Our code is DNA and our cells are bioelectric. In the age of SI, the disease of aging is a solvable issue.
If I were to guess, I鈥檇 say within the next 10-15 years, everything I stated above will become a reality.
This however, does lead to some very interesting philosophical and social discussions. I鈥檒l save that for another post, another time.
And the timing is perfect too, just as many countries are seeing a massive decrease in birth rates.
What a time to be a live!
Just don鈥檛 get hit by a bus! Then again, Tesla is working on brining that possibility to near zero with autonomous driving. :)
this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical
i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs
but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now.
it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them
the last 6 months alone:
- a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months)
- a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months
- a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year
- a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3
- retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3
- an ai-designed drug entered phase 3
- a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3
- an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved
- a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney
- human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave
we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday
stick around, it's going to get weird
