22 miles in Houston this morning! Started with a 14-mile progression down to 6:30 pace, then jumped into 10 x 3 minutes at marathon pace with 2-minute recoveries. The goal was simple: practice running marathon pace on fatigued legs. With St. Jude just a few weeks away, these are the workouts that matter! Great having my buddy Paul alongside on the bike and getting to knock out a few miles with Griffin! #MarathonTraining #StJudeMarathon #LongRun #HoustonRunning #RunningCommunity

VO₂ max might determine your ceiling, but how high is your floor? Having a high VO₂ max doesn’t automatically make you a faster runner. How well you utilize that fitness matters just as much. Phoenix has some incredible places to run! The scenery, trails, and running paths have been awesome to explore. But I’ve noticed one thing… nobody says good morning! 😂 Back home, runners usually acknowledge each other, but out here I’m getting nothing! Is this a Phoenix thing, or am I just too used to Southern hospitality? #RunningCommunity #PhoenixRunning #RunExploration #RunnerLife #DougRunsLong

Running is like coffee. - At first its awful - Starts cheap, gets expensive quick - Eventually you can't live without it - Miss a day = temper tantrum by noon - Too much and you risk shitting your pants What did I miss?

HUGE PR today at the RRS Half Marathon! 🔥 1:14:44, 3rd overall, and over 4 minutes off my previous PR! Rainy, windy conditions, but stuck to the plan. Started conservatively, settled into a rhythm, and pushed hard through the second half. Couldn’t be happier with how this one played out! 5 weeks until St. Jude Marathon, and this was a BIG confidence boost heading into the final stretch of training. Sub-2:35 is the goal! 👀 #MarathonTraining #HalfMarathonPR #RoadToStJude #RunningCommunity #DougRunsLong

First impressions of the @ASICSamerica Metaspeed Edge Tokyo! 👟 Wasn’t sold on them at first, but once I picked up the pace, my opinion started to change. Definitely a stiff, aggressive ride that seems to come alive at faster speeds. Eager to see how they perform on race day! @RunWithTheHouse #ASICS #MetaspeedEdgeTokyo #RunningShoes #MarathonTraining #ShoeReview

The @gtownac pool renovations start next week, so this was the last swim in their nice cold pool for the next +6 months. Time for me & @b__rad99 to go swim in the miserable, over heated @ymcamemphis pool… sad day 😢 #swimminglaps #fitnessjourney #triathlon #triathlete #strava

Final tune-up before Sunday’s half marathon! 5 x 3 min at half marathon pace, followed by 4 x 200m fast. The 3-minute reps felt harder than I expected, but the 200s felt awesome! Definitely carrying some fatigue from the marathon build, but hoping to get some freshness back in the legs before Sunday. Excited to see where my fitness is! #HalfMarathon #MarathonTraining #RunningWorkout #RoadToStJude #DougRunsLong

80 MILE WEEK! First time ever hitting that milestone! 💪 A big week of mileage, quality workouts, and a 24-mile long run to cap it off. The legs are definitely feeling the work, but this is exactly what I’ve been building toward. Less than 6 weeks until the St. Jude Marathon. Time to keep stacking the work and trusting the process! #MarathonTraining #80MileWeek #RoadToStJude #DistanceRunning #DougRunsLong

24 miles this morning with 18 miles steady around 6:30 pace! Perfect weather, fueling was on point, and the effort felt controlled throughout. Definitely felt the distance in my legs, but finished feeling like I had more in the tank. Big marathon-specific workout in the books! 6 weeks until St. Jude! #MarathonTraining #LongRun #RoadTo235 #DistanceRunning #DougRunsLong

Finally starting to feel like myself again! 7 x 1 mile repeats this morning, holding every rep between 5:30–5:35 pace with 90 seconds recovery. Everything felt smooth, controlled, and surprisingly natural. After battling illness and struggling through some workouts, this was a huge confidence boost. Fitness is coming around at the right time! #MarathonTraining #RoadToStJude #DistanceRunning #RunningWorkout #DougRunsLong
